Ever like a show that you knew would be cancelled in one season?

Jeselnik Offensive is just such a show. Any other premier shows currently running doomed to one season?

Duh...Firefly.

One of the best sci-fi shows...and only lasted a single season.

Did they have to make it to a full season? I knew Do No Harm would not make it past five episodes just from the commercials.

An old comedy named "Action!" starring Jay Mohr. Absolutely hilarious. But so dirty and so "inside" that two episodes in I knew there was no way it would ever survive. Current shows, it's hard to predict because what shows live and what shows die has little to do with quality.

I really want to know what the hell happened to "Stark Raving Mad". It was on NBC for one season, got good reviews, good ratings, won a People's Choice Award for best new comedy and still got the axe.

Action was one of my favourite shows ever. A real shame it did not last.

Testees. A Kenny and Spenny (I think) show. Frickin hilarious. Got canned after one season.

Firefly of course

The River (I actually liked it, but not sure what would have happened in a new season).

Carnivale (it lasted 2 seasons, but they canned it with a hell of a cliffhanger, asshats.)

I try not to watch shows in the beginning for that reason - I don't want to get invested in a show only to have it canceled. So I wait until something is our for a few years and then get caught up.

Per Epguides.com: "Satire about a hotshot Hollywood producer and a hooker." ... also starring R. Lee Ermey?

You serious?

OMG ... I remember that show. Whoever developed that show learned the lesson that you do not put the word "rotten" in the name of your show. Sorry, but the show was bad.

Hell no! The show was good, only the ratings were bad. WTWR suffered the same problems that killed Arrested Development. You had to really watch it carefully and pay attention to catch the jokes. That doesn't work on American TV.

R Lee Ermey was freaking hilarious.

One of the quotes from the pilot, which pretty well demonstrates why the show was doomed: The hotshot producer hires a callgirl to attend a premiere with him. Turns out she is a failed child actress, so she knows the biz and he hires her to work for him. His gay male assistant isn't too happy about losing some of his power, so he fights it:

ASST: Who the hell are you?
Peter Dragon: She's my prostitute.
ASST: [stuttering] She's your whore?
Peter Dragon: No, she's my prostitute. You're my whore.

They are. That show was awesome. I think the first episode had Sandra Bullock as herself going to see Dragon and reminiscing about the blowjob she gave him to get her foot in the door of Hollywood.

There was no way it would work on network, but if it had on been on cable it may have had a chance. I still have the hots for Ileana Douglas all because of that show.

666 Park Avenue.

....I thought it was pretty good :(

Do no harm failed to hook me. I started checking my facebook after the first 10 minutes. It was boring.

The River started to get really good, but then they fucked it up by pretty much removing any need to have a second season. The ending was lazy and good at the same time.

Pretty sure they got 2 seasons, but definitely cut too short.

JABBERWOCKEY

Yup, 2 seasons

I liked Outsourced but that only lasted one season. Was probably too offensive to some to continue running it though.
