So I'm finally settled in here in Times Square/Theater District and let me just say that so far it ROCKS!!! Thanks to Travelocity I picked an AWESOME hotel--the Hotel Edison which is nestled right between the Marriott Marquis and the new W (I'm right next to the big Cadillac thingie in Times Square.) Since I didn't wanna pay for the whole thing upfront...I ended up booking through the hotel's front desk. Not only were they able to reserve me a room on a higher floor (its noisy in Times Square) and guarantee two double beds in a corner room--but I also got the same rate as Travelocity! Saved a bunch by not staying at the Marriott Marquis where I was originally gonna stay.

Anyway, without further ado, the pics! I haven't taken many since I just got here at 9pm (I hate LaGuardia and the traffic gettin' here--almost a $30 cab ride!)

The Hotel Edison lobby

Another view of the lobby

The hotel room

A view of Times Square outside

More Times Square

Even more Times Square

You guessed it...more of the Square

The brand new Lehman building on 7th where my friend works

Pics snapped with a Canon PowerShot A40. I still haven't played with the Program or Manual modes so the low-light pics aren't the best! Also, the pics are grainy because I used the WinXP "Resize Pics" to downsample them to 1.2mp--which also uses a higher compression setting. I'm on a dialup in the hotel and paying per minute so no high res pics yet!

Nice pics, how much is your hotel, where did you book through (expedia, travelocity, etc.)?

I think I went to that hotel on my visit to New York to use their restroom. It looks very familiar.

I would strongly advise against eating at the TGIFridays there in one of your pics. You won't believe the stories.

Nice pics man! Did you get to go to Barcode?? You can see it in the 2nd and 3rd Times Square pics. That's a fun place to go, albeit pricey. Another thing, thank you very much for resizing the pics smaller and being merciful on the few of us folks on dialup.:p

1.) Try getting a car service, they have leather and they're cheaper in some cases
2.) Needs more subway.

The room is $125 per night...about $5 more per night than the Travelocity rate (I booked through the hotel reservations desk so I could avoid paying for it all upfront with Travelocity.)

Went to bed early last night after grabbin a quick bite at some Fries place (Frites something?) Got a conference to run to this morning. My coworker went jogging this morning at sunrise: here to columbus circle/central park and back! I think I may join him tomorrow. I'll see about this guy's Conan tix, but I prolly couldn't have gone anyway (don't they film during the day?)

You wouldn't happen to work in the Grace Building do you? My aunt works there so I pass by frequently...

w00t! NYC pwns j00.
As a Brooklyn soldier, I'd tell you that if you're up to it, you should visit some places in Brooklyn too! No trip to NYC can be complete without a slice of Junior's Cheesecake. NO TRIP, at all.

As for places to go in Manhattan, the Barcode's a cool place, as well as Mars 2112 depending on when you go. You might also want to wander by the MTV studios around TRL time, given you want to scope pretty lady-folk; just make sure they're legal before attempting to wield the flask :D
