It's over but I haven't watched it yet due to the rugby! Some things transcend normal TV...

Capped from the non-HD digital signal, ~1.9GB, looks nice.

Great episode, the scenery in Switzerland/Italy where they were looking for the ultimate driving road was just breathtaking.

Nice little dig at Fifth Gear too :p

any inside knowledge of episodes they'll have?

its such a great show. im going to get 720p for all of em :D

Also looking forward to the 720p versions.

Turns out the HD Polar Special they shot this summer was a one off. HD was not ready for this season's regular episodes.

Maybe for next year.

"The hills are alive to the sound of horse power." HAHA!!!!

A damn shame their props got burned.

Some amazing scenery there!

Oh my goodness....what an amazing show! I wish I was driving a Lambo or Porche from Davos (more than a ski town) into Italy! I can't wait till they race the Typhoon Jet or the guy with jet packs!

I personally wish they had revisited the "space shuttle" challenge instead of the amphibious car challenge.

did anyone else find it odd that there was only 1 car featured, and for only 10 minutes of an hour long show? the amphibs are fun and the reasonably priced car was pretty good, but i think this episode was a little weak. maybe it was fill to stretch the series out to 10 shows? i'd like them to lighten up on the cinematographic effects during the features. i thought the R8 feature was particularly heavy-handed with effects that started to take away from the content. since the 2nd gen show started, the producer's filter fetish has become the 4th star of the show.

When all you moaners actually pay for it, someone might listen. I enjoyed the show immensely.

Also, wrong forum.

Looks like a good episode tomorrow:

The silly men in waistcoats have put away their balls and bits of wood, so Top Gear is returning to your screens. Episode Three of the new series airs on Sunday October 28 at 8pm on BBC Two, and it's set to be an absolute cracker.

The Big Race sees Hammond and a Bugatti Veyron take on a jet fighter. Yep, that's plane versus car in the most horsepower-packed challenge we've ever undertaken. Don't miss it.

Jeremy has finally lured the Ferrari 599GTB down to the Top Gear test track, but how will the front-engined V12 supercar's lap time measure up?

James, as is his wont, has been sampling something a little more refined: the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe. That's 6.7-litres of delicious British goodness... driving a convertible Roller. Sorry.

We've also got the self-parking Lexus LS600h in the studio (absolutely no potential for disaster there, naturally), as well as Lamborghini's awesome Reventon: the million-Euro special-edition Murcielago that looks like a jet fighter and goes like one too.

Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood is the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car, while Isle of Man local Jeremy squeezes himself into the Isle of Man's finest export: the Peel car. Never heard of it? Google it, then prepare to be amazed.

The Beetle wins! haha. Hammond wanted it so badly - he'd have had it, too, if he'd just crossed the river when clarkson got bored.

Not a bad episode last night, although it was a bit of a hodgepodge.

I must admit I was surprised the Caparo was reviewed so negatively. I don't really take umbrage with their removing it from the lap board, and I was really interested to see how it would perform. It was interesting that the Stig was able to handle it SO well - it was a pretty low-drama lap with an incredible time - which suggests to me it may just be a brutally difficult car to drive, and require warm tires and a lot of speed to handle acceptably.

I love it when Simon Cowell goes on the show - I sometimes skip over the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, because it involves some English TV star or athlete I've never heard of, but Cowell is a great interview and goes back at Jeremy in a way few do.

FYI, the new Clarkson Supercar Showdown video is floating around the Internet - it's not bad, but not as entertaining as Top Gear IMO. It's largely shot at the Ascari private circuit, which looks like a really nice track.
