I have it right in front of me now. Going to start reading it after I finish "Flyboys", by the same author.

Coauthor Ron Powers reminds me of Shifty Powers from Band of Brothers 1 because of the name. I think about shifty everytime I look at the book.

I am currently reading Patton's autobiography, "War As I Knew It."

After that, I'll start "Ghost Soldiers."

Have you read "An Army at Dawn"? I'm considering starting it after "Flags".
I will buy no more books for a year. I have about 20 that I want to read.

Nope. May have to check it out.

Here is my current list:

War As I Knew It (current book)
Cowboy Capitalism : European Myths about the American Reality
Ghost Soldiers
Chronicles, Volume 1 (Bob Dylan)

Then maybe the Robert Ludlam books: Bourne Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum.

If you liked War As I Knew It, the Sherman Memoirs are pretty good too.

The Bourne series is good too. I read all 3 in a weekend. :)

Or they'll just say "Eh, the UK didn't really fight much in the Pacific, so I bet no one there would be interested" :p

I hope they go into Chichi Jima a little bit.

It's amazing how little most people know about the Pacific War. Flyboys really impressed me with how little I was taught in HS and college about the subject.

An Army At Dawn is one of the best war books I have ever read. A lot of reading but very well put together.
