so this isn't a miniseries... i guess finding out the special abilities of 4400 people will take about.....

it's a mistake to make this a show.... story seems better suited as a miniseries

Anyone remember "V" ????

he did say that "it's in our back yard...". so it's gotta be pretty close.

how about the poor writing skills relying on coincidence. 4400 people. Not really that many considering the population and spread over 80 years. Yet still, one of the returnees just happens to be related to someone in a posistion to work at 'homesec' and interview them?
Better yet, the war vet and Lily, his gal's granddaughter and both were 'taken'?

the storyline made me think that we're going to find out that there is a reason why these two particular people were taken. i'm gonna even dare to guess that somehow she's actually pregnant by him (him = the black guy. conception occured after she was taken, and before they were returned, which means it happened while they were 'there', whereever there is).

Give me a @%@#'ing break.
Top that with poor acting and dialogue... ' He's the one who went MIA. what's to say he wont do that again?' 'I do!'. 😛

dude, no comment about the acting 🙂
i don't think they're that bad though. the story was good enough to get me curious, so i'm gonna watch this one.

yes. it's a mini-series. five part mini-series to be exact.

I liked it. But in the beginning what was up with the missiles? They launched missiles and a few seconds later the comet passed the moon? So the missiles they launched reached the moon in a couple seconds??

🙂 pretty close is one thing. Blockbusters it pretty close. Still takes me >5 minutes to get there. A wide open area near Mt Rainier isn't that close to anyone. One second they showed the comet slowing down and approaching the landing spot, next we we dozens of people arriving in time to see the object approach and 'land'. Just stupid writing.

D

(PS. noticed the 'magic' nukes that reached beyond lunar orbit (and in what, under a minute???), but forgot to gripe about that too.)

I hated it. It was like a budget version of the X-Files, which wasn't my favorite show either. I won't be watching this series.

just finished watching... and after reading some of your comments... my god... reality check... this is a USA series. I can understand all the bickering about the writers if this were out in theatres and it was hyped up to all hell.

I love it for what it presents. And it's not close to being as cheesy as other made-for-tv movies (a la 10.5). This had good flow on top of it. Acting wasn't terrible aside from a couple scenes. I've been known to LOL at acting... and I didn't do so with this one. Again, reality check. Sci-fi series on USA. Small screen. I'm hooked for at least how the rest of the season turns out.

ha ha. 10.5 was so brutal. Yes... the earth will just happen to split w/ a giant chasm, yet the main characters will all just happen to be 3 feet from the edge, yet not die.

That was such a predictable movie.

I just finished watching what was on last Sunday. The beginning I was like "eh, so far, so 'ok'" It reminds me a lot of V and the Xfiles combined, then it got really cool. I'm definately gonna watch the rest.

Oh, and Danzilla, ITS A TV SHOW ITS NOT REAL. Give it a rest and watch it for what it is, ENTERTAINMENT.

I just um... "acquired" ep 1. I'm intrigued... I'm glad it's only a 5 part series. I would probably be bored of it if it were a show anyhow. Off to acquire ep 2! 😀
