The ruling was due by now, but the only word so far is from CNNSI. Apparently, the ruling will be that they can only suspend him for 3 games and that the Eagles will release him today.

Thoughts?

I dont' see why everyone keeps saying the eagles HAVE To release him.....if they reduce the suspension, just let him ride the pine. His contract doesn't gaurantee he'l play....

Nah... Why pay a guy and not play him? They are better off to just release him. Let him be someone else's headache.

They're saying that because they can't legally keep him from the training room and such, and he's actually become SUCH a curse that they're not even willing to let him near the facility. THAT is why they're probably going to release him.

Sports Illistrated is reporting that ownes will be cut after his 3 game suspension is up.

Lets assume for the sake of argument he does get cut.
He must then go through the waivers period before he is a free agent.

The waivers process says that beginning from the worst team to the best, every team has the option to pick him up for the remainder & value of his current contract.

Which of the NFL's bottom sucking teams will pass and who will win the lotto??
(teams at the bottom of the list get first pick)

hahaha. and its funny too because i just read an article where they are upset with brandon lloyd and some of the things he's said recently. the niners are probably thinking if they'll ever get a receiver who knows how to keep quiet. maybe they should look into picking up a mute or a mime or something.

I understand why they are releasing him. You think anybody would *want* to play with him after that? They will probably always make him get the soap in the showers too.

Green bay - No, if they even considered it, Favre would step in
Miami - No, they just dealt with Ricky Williams
Cleveland - No, Romeo Crennel has the same mentality about players that Belichik does
Oakland - No, they already have TWO good receivers
Denver is the only team in my mind that would consider picking him up.

lol.

Espn just had a report on tv that miami & oakland would be the best place for owens, because of how they deal with ricky / moss situations respectively.
And i dont think favre would mind having owens... the rest of the people around him suck. At least this will make it 3 on 11, instead of 2 on 11.

Denver is 8-2... they dont got a prayer of owens making it that hgh in the waiver chain.

No-one above 6-4 will ever even get to look at owens.

I GUARANTEE YOU that the only teams that might pick him up are the Texans, Jets, Saints, Chiefs, Skins, and Broncos. I wouldn't even put the Skins on there, but I'd be an idiot to rule him out. That guy would take a chance on ANYONE. Of those 6, the Chiefs, Skins, and Saints are the least likely.

Add Dallas to your list and maybe Cincinatti

ESPN on TV just said, Eagles are in their right for 4 game supension and can leave inactive for the rest of the season.

Of course NFLPA will get involved about the inactive part I bet.
