Street Fighter 4 Pre-orders will be soon available. I got this inforamtion from the shoryuken forums.

From a press release:

New Trailer, Preorder Campaign Kickoff On StreetFighter.com Immediately Following

When: Saturday, May 31st, 2008 at 10 PM
Where: CBS (check local listings)
URL: http://www.streetfighter.com, http://fight.proelite.com/elitexc-primetime.html

SAN MATEO, CA ? May 28, 2008 ? Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the first television commercial for Street Fighter® IV will debut during the CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights mixed martial arts (MMA) event. The EliteXC bout takes place on CBS on Saturday, May 31 at 9 PM EST. Immediately following the bout, the Street Fighter IV trailer will debut on the newly redesigned StreetFighter.com, along with the first chance for gamers to preorder Street Fighter IV for the Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3?) computer entertainment system exclusively through GamesStop.

I will be pre-ordering my copy as soon as possible, and I hope many of you will as well. Capcom said earlier that video game sales are much determined by their pre-orders and first week sales as this creates momentum for the product and retailers are then more likely to push the product onto consumers. If you are a fan of street fighter, you OWE this great franchise your support!

I'll add a detailed update on how SF4 is shaping up tomorrow.

Spread the word.

I'll be preordering but I don't OWE capcom anything. I'm sure MvC2 will still remain the better game and it is shaping up so that Camcom vs. Totsunoku looks better than SF4 by about a billion.

Preordering is pointless, besides I will be waiting first to see which is better, SF4 or SC4. My money is on SC4.

man gamestop is pimpin. they take your money a year ahead of time, pay of their debts, make interest on millions and millions of dollars, then hope you forget you preordered and let them keep your $5.

I reserved LoZ:TP in 2006 for $5. When it came out I just bought it for $35 on sale the same week so why pay full price? Even if I wanted to go to GS and pick it up, I lost the damn reservation thingy.

i've never had to show a prepay receipt to pick anything up at gs.

Besides, I make enough money I can afford to give them 5 dollars ahead of time.

Anyways like I said Camcom vs. Totsunoku looks so much better.

Definitely gonna pick up SF4 and SC4 though i doubt there's any need to pre order. haven't heard about this capcom vs totsuonku though it looks interesting. Love the first MvC but disliked the 2nd one. It was too much of a fckfest and the whole unbalanced so it's balanced thing didnt really go for me. Hopefully CvT will bring back some of the balance that MvC had.

Gamestop usually does offer neat "extras" that you get for free when pre-ordering a game, though.

WTF is Camcom? I thought it was a typo at first, but both of your posts say Camcom.

dumb comparison. If I knew where you lived and it was close enough to where I live, and if I wanted you to reserve something for me then I would let you have 5 dollars if when the item is released, you hold it and apply the 5 dollars towards the product.

I'm sorry but isn't that not how it works? You pay 5 bucks for the privilege of pre-ordering and then you pay the full price when it's time to pick up your merchandise.

So yea, can I have 5 dollars too? I promise to let you be the first* to buy something from me 6 months from now

*first after all the other idiots who gave me 5 dollars.

umm ... no

if a game is $60 total, and you pay $5 to preorder it, you pay $55 when you go and pick it up.

More excited for ST HD Remix personally, but god knows when that's coming out, delayed and delayed again.

Really was hoping that they were going to stick with 2d art and go high res ala Guilty Gear, not really feeling the 3d look. KOFXII on the other hand is looking amazing, it's what SF4 could've been if they stuck with hand drawn sprites.

That would be the dumbest thing ever, so I'm glad it's not true.
Did you really think that you pay $5 just for the priviledge, not as cash towards your game?
