Simply too expensive!
No market!
Direct order from 3dfx Ceo to stop the V5 6000!

Where is the bit about the "direct order?" Anyway, the interview is with Russell Chipman, and not the CEO. This is not an official statement. Nothing new here.

<< Translate it you dick! >>

Calm down Paulson. It's not a big deal - just go to AltaVista or something for their translator.

Anyways, I'm not sure, but I don't think there is a policy stating English only on this board. Ich bin ein yummy pastry.

It was a direct order from Alex Leupp to stop the v6000
as we can see now 3dfx seems to be limited in products by lack of money!

So? Some predicted this as early as spring of this year. The vsa-100s were so late this was inevitable. But why beat a dead horse? 3dfx will either resurrect themselves with Rampage or they won't. Either way there's still plenty of competition to satisfy everyone.

hardware posts yet another shockingly late "news story" without links, of course. !CONFIRMED!

beat that horse, make it a bloody pulp.

Well 3DFX knows when to get off the pot and let other company,s make the cards with their chips, and not haft to battle the stupidity pf the public on what to buy to increase the video speed.I just seen a urta an started to purchase it,when I read the small print saying;"card for the _NEXT_ generation of games",What they mean!when the games come out next year they may run faster than on a GF2 you have now LOL.

Get your babelfish here.

The recently stopped prestige project Voodoo 5 6000 was deleted in accordance with official predicates of 3dfx from financial considerations. In view of the further strained financial situation of the Multimedia manufacturer 3dfx set ' CEO Alex Leupp consistently the red pencil and tilted the Voodoo 5 6000 AGP from the program, equipped with 4 diagram chips and 128 MB SDR SDRAM. " it was easy financially not justifiable to bring this card into the Retail market. There was no possibility, also only Anna-honouring into the profit area of arriving ", meant 3dfx ' Russell Chipman on request. " the demand for a such card is more deeply than is extensively expected. There are not many people, which are ready, to output 600 US Dollar (the minimum, which we could ourselves have carried out) on a diagram card, which must be probably renewed after one year again. The minimum number of cards which we to sell would have had, in order to make the product profitable, was situated the far over potential customer master. Additionally almost no dealer was ready to take up such a expensive product to the assortment ", continued to execute he. Indeed the planned selling price of DM 1300 was astronomical for such a product. A view back clarifies once the lunatic price rise for High end Grafikkarten to more. In the year 1996 the Voodoo Graphics rope-freshly coming from the factory applied - to accelerators as the absolute Non plus Ultra on the 3D-Markt. 3D-Add-On-Karten of this type were easily 2 years long even suitable for the most modern 3D-Spiele, if not even for longer time the first selection. Nevertheless sales start " only " 300 US Dollar was to be paid right after for such a High end product.

Hey man, that translater is WAY cool. It ain't perfect, but it helps a lot.

That's a nice find. Thanks.

Normally a company would bite in the sour apple and bring the v5 6000 to the market just to compete in the hiend range.
but 3dfx is simply out of money!

Hardware, WTF is your problem? I thought you ended your retarded crusade against 3dfx. Do us all a favor and be done with it!
