I haven't seen a thread about this (searched) and I'm sick of reading pessimistic things on here. I don't usually start threads but I think this is a good idea.

[*] Where are you going for break ?
[*] Are you going by yourself or with a group ?
[*] Are you fortunate enough to be of the legal drinking age that so you can fully enjoy your break ?

Any questions related to these, etc, etc. Let's try to make this a positive thread.

For those of you who don't get a spring break because you're lucky enough to be employed, feel free to post about upcoming vacations or plans.

Here's what I'm doing :

Leaving IN (woohoo) and going back home where I get to work for the week and study for a couple of tests. I can't wait to go back to work and not having classes for a week is a godsend. Hopefully I'll have a good St. Patty's Day (Irish Mafia unite! 🙂)

Well, I'm on spring break right now. I'm a graduate student, and I have to do research over break though (we call it "work"). However, my advisor is out of town for the week, so I'm taking the day off today to catch up on real life.

And what a day it has been...

Spring break? I always used it to make some $$$ while home when I was in college. Now that I'm in the working world, vacations are my weekends!
 
For Spring Break, I am sitting in my condo, attempting to study for the midterm I have the day I come back, though I'm not sure how successful this endeavor is going to be. 😀
 
1. we are going to either deception pass or lake chelan or some other lake in washington state.
2. with a group... i'm one of two guys.... should be like 4-5 girls. 😀 😉 nah we are all good little kiddies.
3. no. but i don't really care... i drink for taste anyways. we'll be playing cards, running around... doing wholesome activities like that.

You're at Notre Dame, right? What are you doing for your grad work? I don't think I've ever seen you post what your actual major/study is. Notre Dame is an awesome school and represents one of the best parts of Indiana, unlike other schools (*cough*westlafayetteisabarrenwasteland*cough*).

Going to Daytona with about 5 friends and staying in someones condo on the beach. We'll probably meet up with some more when we get there. I'm not of legal age but I predict that we will be fully enjoying our break anyway. 😀

Come on! You have to take a vacation sometime during the year and Spring is a good a time as any 😛 Don't tell me you work year-round without a vacation. If you do, I'm sure you could find a much better company to work for, especially w/ all of your experience.

I usually don't take a "vacation" in the sense of taking a lot of days off to do something. I generally fritter away my vacation days throughout the year turning normal weekends into 3-4 day affairs. I rarely ever take more that 2 days off in a row.

I'll be taking next Thursday & Friday off to watch the opening rounds of the NCAA tourney. 😀

I am definitely working Monday - Wednesday, but am not scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
 
"Spring" Break was last week for me. I ran around back home in Ohio with all the people from HS who had stayed in Ohio for college. Spent a couple days in Dayton with a friend, and basically did a bunch of catching up with old friends. Took care of my taxes and finished a couple books too. Also started on Don Quixote again. I'm currently 16 days from being of the legal age to partake of the Dionysean pleasures.

Yep, I'm at ND. I'm working on my PhD in chemical engineering. I'm specifically working on the application of reliable, rigorous computing techniques to solving chemical engineering problems. Our group is working with using interval newton methods to solve non-linear equations. The cool thing about interval newton method is that it guarantees to find all solutions to an equation or a system of equations within some specified range of possible answers. It is really useful in solving optimization problems, etc. Fun stuff, and it is all on the computer, so I can work from home during the winter when the weather sucks!

Oh, we might be going up to Canada for the week. Or we might be going down to Huntsville to visit a buddy. Or maybe skiing in Wisconsin...we haven't decided yet...Procrastination is the coolest...

I spent 22 of my 24 years on earth a little bit south of there and Daytona has turned to crap. Id advise you go somewhere else...... anywhere else.
 
I don't have enough money to really go anywhere. I'm going home for the week. If I can manage to find enough spare cash, I'm going to try and catch the 2 Skinnee J's once, maybe twice, over break.

I go there every year. I only live like an hour away.
 
My SB was last week, I didn't go anywhere other than home, by myself, and didn't drink.

I didn't really mind, but it was just really annoying since nobody else was in town. oh well.
