where were/what were you doing down here during/after Katrina?

Killer snow? No, just snow that wipes out all forms of communication in the Midwest. Landline, internet, and cellular. No communications means no idiot customers pestering me!

Apparently the same drugs I'm supposed to be on.

Just remember, this is the official winter weather thread, and I called it.

Poor Beth in Utah :(

I'd like to also add that a cross dressing man in Pennsylvania named Harry will slip on the ice in February and break his wrist, his wrist will be set by a physician that has parents that once voted a straight Republican ticket in 1940, the Republican nominee, Wendell Willkie, lost but carried Maine, Vermont, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado, all states which were & have continued to be significantly impacted by snow.

Proof of Wendell Wilkie's ties to the construction of the weather machine on the International Space Station (we all know about Bugs Bunny's ties to NASA's black ops):

In a humorous reference in the Bugs Bunny animated cartoon Falling Hare, Bugs is pestered by a gremlin while trying to fly a World War II bomber. When Bugs realizes what the gremlin is, he timidly asks, "Could it be a - [whispering] gremlin?" In a foreign accent, the gremlin shouts in Bugs' ear, "It ain't Vendell Villkie!" This recalls an incident at the 1940 Republican National Convention when the head of a state delegation from the Midwest announced "two votes for Villkie" in a Scandinavian accent. This sound bite, broadcast on nationwide radio, enjoyed a brief vogue as a humorous catchphrase.

(Where is Scand anyway? I googled it and am sure it ties in somehow with Republican generated snow, anyone have a link?)

It's real, remember that Adkins Diet guy that slipped on ice on a New York City sidewalk, hit his head and died last year.

Keep a backpack of Ice melt on you at all times and sprinkle in front of you and wait for the ice to melt as you walk.

Another hard science link for you: Ice melting rates with salt

Here's a link from the Salt Institute Salt, it's not just for inducing hypertension any more

And a link to A world without salt, is it worth living?

When you get to your destination after sprinkling salt over your intended path (after the 3 months it would take to do that), post about how this thread saved your life !!!!!

Well damn, you should start a recall of all that ice melt they sell bogusly to consumers all winter long since it's such an obvious huge sham.

Yes, it's all a sham, see the salt mines are controlled by Republicans that have suppressed ice melting technology while causing winter storms through the weather device in the space shuttle and the larger one in the international space station, thus driving up the price of their salt and their friend's sand, reaping windfall profits yet again. Canada has already dealt with this issue by passing laws in the public interest Link here

Post any more links to this travesty you can find. And I'll start a thread about how we can all send salt to the states that will need it this winter.

And let's not forget the poll results, Skoorb > killer snowstorms. I hate the preferential treatment ex patriot Canadians get here, he sold out and it shows.

Well good, let me know when you get Dems in control of congress to pass a bill against this salt sham and your best bud to sign it in the Oval office.

Dave, you're glossing over the whole Skoorb problem, it'd be easy to explain away if it weren't for the Democratic majority in congress and the current stacked makeup of the supreme court.

One has to wonder about Skoorb's whereabouts during the recent alleged siezure of Chief Justice Roberts

No, that's just a distraction, I just want everyone to know how insightful I am and that I called it.

During my youth in the Dakotas I studied snow and storms extensively, for instance, the common belief that Eskimos have an unusually large number of words for snow is an urban myth. Eskimo words for snow

Another common myth is that snow can replace water in a bong, I have proof this is not accurate.

Probably a smorgasbord of drugs he gets from the hospital he works at. Yup.

Hey, how are you? Haven't seen you in like forever...

Life treating you well?

I'm sure I still have some molecules of hallucinogens floating around from the 70's & 80's, every once in a while they bump into something, making repeated doses unnecessary

Life is good, better than ever. I've been around here, you just never know where I will be.

Hope life with you is decent.

Those floaty molecules I do believe are stored in the recesses of your brain, they like to make an appearance sometimes, don't they. Hah.

I assume, sir, that for a brief period in 1986 you drove a Zamboni and through this occupation have become the master of all things icy? Because it's credentials like that which lend you unassailable expertise.

I can only dream of driving one.

After growing up with outdoor rinks & lakes, Zamboni's kicked serious ass. The nearest one was 125 miles away :(
