I decided to make this post to make it easier for us to check the different results that we got out of our SL6S2 2.53's.

1.) SL6S2 Philippines (from outpost) 7306A488-0387 --- only managed 161 fsb at default vcore , increasing vcore didnt help.

2.) SL6S2 MALAY (from outpost) L248A715-0604 --- 175 fsb at default vcore, 179 @ 1.55 vcore

*Both were tested using P4G8X-D, ALPHA 8942 with L1A Panaflo , XMS 3200LL 512mb x 2, Enermax 550 watts PSU

**I will appreciate if you could post your results here guys so we will know which SL6S2 to get...

SL6S2 Malay L248A715-0601 - 175 default vcore, 185 @ 1.625. System specs in signature...

I think the Malay chips coming from the L factory are the ones to get, at least that is what I have read. I think its just luck of the draw to be honest, :)

SL6S2 L. (Outpost) Did not bother to write anything down.. I will include info when I remove the MCX4000 again. :) 184MHz FSB / 1.550v / ABIT BH7

EDIT: I have not heard about many Philippine SL6S2's shipping from Outpost.. It will be interesting to see if this is a new trend... :frown:

SL6S2 Malay from frys
175 at 1.5 actual
Board is an Albatron PX845PEV Pro
I'll have new ram in this week and update this. That's what's holding me back at the moment.

Edit: Looks like I won't have my ram for another week at least. I hate outpost :|

I think that Chandler, AZ is the only place on that list that actually is a site where the processors are actually fabbed. All those other places are just where the p4 core goes before it is placed into the external package we see....

What I would like to see is a numbe for the Fab site where the chips were processed....

SL6S2 Malay
Q310A026-1995
I hope it does great for you... Many Q Malays are known to not OC well.

EDIT: From the Overclockers Forums SL6S2 Thread:
The pecking order from what I have seen on these chips is:

From best to worst for a SL6S2 are:
3 . . . . Costa Rica 190+
L . . . . Malaysia 180+
Q . . . . Malaysia 170+
7 . . . . Philippines 166+
Bad news : my chip failed Prime 95 at 160fsb @1.475 after 3.5 hours. I am pretty sure the default vcore is not 1.525v as it boots up at 1.475v (actual Vcore -0.03) in both the Albatron PX845PEV Pro (bios : 1.10 beta) and Abit BH7. I am trying to feed it more volts now to get it stable. If I can get it stable at 175fsb @ 1.75v(or below), I will keep it. Or else it goes back to Fry's. Lady luck isn't smiling on me as the SL6RZ L249 I bought from Fry's last week could only do 160fsb @ 1.65v actual Vcore I know there is no problem with my mobos and ram as I have my 1.6A runnin rock solid at 178fsb, 3:4 ratio.

Stay away from the Q......
