I was absolutely furious last week; the game was supposed to be released, and literally zero stores in the Portland Metro area had it in stock. I ended up ordering it online, it's supposed to arrive today. I played the hell out of the first game, and it still gets more time in my PS3 than pretty much any other game. I checked out the demo for Skate 2, and thought the mechanics were all there, but the skatepark they give you to skate around in absolutely sucks compared to the skatepark from the Skate 1 demo, so I got bored with it pretty quick. Looking forward to the full game.

I love the mega ramps :) and actually figured out how to get air on verts now which makes the game 10000x more enjoyable.

Anyone know how to edit their videos (x360)? I wanted to cut everything except a 6 second part and couldn't figure that shit out.

Took me forever to figure it out. Use the help key for info as I dont recall off the top of my head how to do it. I know its RB + something to insert brackets of the footage. Its in the editor help menu.

So far I am spending a LOT of time at the Mogocorp skate park. HUGE drops and a great somewhat hidden tunnel in that area where you can litterally spiral down the whole tube at some sick speed.

fun game, i got it last thursday and been having a blast. i also liked the intro video, with the character getting processed from jail and showing all the skaters with e.l.o.'s 'showdown' blaring.

Remember the funny videos of people crashing during Skate?

Skate2 is doing the same (click on the second video from the top in the right column. Should see some stairs.)

If I was a huge fan of the tony hawk series and the SSX snowboarding series is this something I could really get into?

I never dug the TH series, it was too "arcady", I did dig the SSX series. Skate and Skate 2, IMO, trump TH.

And even tho the demo is pretty good, it is nowhere near as good as the game. :)

If you like watching actual skateboarding movies, you can get into Skate. I was a big fan of Tony Hawk, but I started getting board with it around the time Underground was released; I would take to lowering my character's stats way down to make it more realistic. Skate is different than THPS, but the people I've played it with who also like THPS all prefer Skate; it's just a better skating game overall. If the only thing that drew you to THPS was being able to grind with the American flag waving around on a board that was broken in half and on fire... well, there's nothing quite so ridiculously over-the-top in Skate.

I'd actually recommend trying out the Skate 1 demo over the Skate 2 demo; the park it gives you to mess around in is about a thousand times more entertaining. Sure, you'll be missing out on some movies, but the Skate 2 demo just frustrated me with how limited it was; there was no room to bust out all these cool tricks that had been added to my arsenal.

I intend to play more Skate 2 tonight; I'm honestly a little underwhelmed so far, but I think it's because I'm trying to adjust to not knowing all the terrain and the layout of the city the way I did in Skate 1. Figuring out where the hot skating parks are is fine and dandy, but it can seem circuitous, especially if you get lost in the heavily policed downtown area.

I'm assuming the Mogocorp skatepark isn't available from the get-go?

Thanks Playboy. I actually skated and boarded for 15-20 years so if this is more realistic/simulation I'm sure I can get into it. I'll check out the skate 1 demo.

Hell yea! Also, Playboy, you can just telepoprt to the locations via the menu, no more stupid subway. Af course you could also skate there. First thing i did was skate most of the area or grabbed the back of a car and let it drag me around town. Found lots of spots that way.

I totally forgot they added skitching... I haven't even tried it yet. Balls! But yeah, I've just been warping around knocking out some challenges. There are definitely some sick spots in the game, and the increased variety of tricks means I can kill twice as much time at a spot just trying weird shit (OK, now I'm gonna 360 hippie jump off the ledge... WHOA! OK, now I'll try an airwalk and see if I can fingerflip out of it... crap, guess not!). I'm a little put off by the HDR in some places; I'll come across a dark area and I can't tell if it's a ramp or stairs or a wall (and it turns out to be a tunnel). But still, definitely enjoying it.

bringing this up. anyone on the ps3 version of this able to log onto ea nation for online play? i have not been able to log on once with this game, and my router/wireless settings are fine (cod4, street fighter 4, kz2 all work decently multiplayer). the game keeps giving me a "check my network message" when i know my network is just fine. a few people on other forums seem to be having similar issues.
