Alright, the way these episodes start keeps on getting weirder and weirder. It was OK, I thought, the funniest part was the Human Chessboard scene =)

<cbg voice>worst episode ever</cbg voice> Well it wasnt the first episode, but I thought it pretty much sucked. Didnt grab my attention at all. I thought the one funny part of it was when homer was on the tennis net and said he was surfing the net.

I think it was Marge who asked Smithers if whether or not Burns had a human chessfield. They did a cut to the chessboard. When the player had discovered that Burns wasn't there, they bolted with the King remaining alone. Defenseless the king cries out something to the effect of, &quot;Come back, you have to protect me.&quot; Shortly after, the other side comes over and beats the snot out of the defenseless king.

Burns showed up at Homer's house to play on his court with Smithers. Marge asks, &quot;Well don't you have your own court?&quot; Smithers replies, &quot;We did but we converted it to a human chessboard.&quot; Or something like that.

Then it cuts to a scene of a bunch of humans dressed up as pieces on a chessboard. A Black rook says, &quot;Hey, Burns has been gone for a while, let's make a break for it!&quot; And the King protests, &quot;No, stay here and protect me!&quot; But the rook and pawns run off anyone then white pieces walk across the board and beat the snot out of the king.

The chess board scene cracked me up, as mpg said: I also thought the animation looked different today. The outlines of the characters seemed thicker than usual

Bleh... Is it me or does every new Simpson's episode seem contrived in order to fit their &quot;guest stars&quot; lately? I got more laughs out of King of the Hill and Futurama.

Maybe you guys can help my wife and I settle a bet. It concerns the solo that Lisa breaks off into during the introduction (she's playing in band at school and then gets up playing a jazz improvosition as she walks out of the room). I say its different everytime and she says its the same! Anyone else out there have an opinion?

I think with the Lisa solo, they've done both. I think for a season or two it was different tunes and for a while it's been the same tune.
