Official Simpsons Thread. 12/17/00

chew through my ball sack was funny...best lines (IMO) were:
-"This is terrible, how will the kids get home?" (marge) "I dunno, Internet?" (Homer)
-"Falcon to eagle, have located piece of crap"
and, best of all:
Flanders: "I think we hit something"
Homer: "I hope it's flanders"

I think the writers are trying to start a "wacky ending" trend. Many of the episodes this season (all?) have had really wacky (ridiculous) endings. OK for the Halloween episodes IMO, but kinda dumb for the regulars.

Who says there were no memorable lines?

"It's cold and hurty.." -- Ralph Wiggum
"Yes ma'am" -- Ralph Wiggum to Principal Skinner

i think the simpsons are trying to become TOO much slapstick

like when marge was looking at the cicrus act, and said she was getting ideas, i thought that was extremely stupid.

Those weird endings are kind of dumb. I think the writers should seriously consider reducing their crack intake.

The "ball sack" line was the best, but even funnier was the expression on the guinea pig when it heard him say that! He just crawled back in his roller ball and took off.

Overall a dull episode IMO.

What was the deal with the haw haw haw stuff?

For me the two funniest parts where when Nelson goes "Falcon to Eagle, I have found bag of crap." and the second funnies what when Wiggum was spelling his name and he says "squeeze out the last few drops Lou" And Lou goes "Sure cheif."

Overall a decent episode, but still not as good as they used to be. This show is dying.

The National Weather Service has upgraded the storm from "Winter Wonderland" to "Level 3 Death Blizzard"...

(close to that)

That was a great line!
😀

The best part about the Level 3 Death Blizzard was when Marge said, "I don't like the sound of that "level 3."

Deeko - 2 reasons:

1) It has become "cool" to bash the Simpsons and to claim the show is dying. Bored, tired, hack-writers on some web sites decided that they were so smart at spoting bad shows, that they could even see with god-like authority that *GASP!* the Simpsons show is dying!!! Think "Rock music is dead" type shock statements, here.

This causes a sub-effect that hangers-on and other wanna-bes join the bandwagon and show how with-it they are with a good dig into the side of the still brilliant show. To quote the Simpsons itself:

Teenager at Lolapalooza: "Sheah... thats 'cool'..."
Other Teenager: "Are you being sarcastic?"
First Teenager: "I don't even know anymore..."

2) The Simpsons went through a period of seasons where it was astronomically good... so that now the merely "great" seasons pale somewhat in comparison. This disregards the fact that the Simpsons AT ITS WORST is still better that %99 of the crap on TV.

you know what? Optimus' first reason is the EXACT same reason people make fun of boybands. They don't even know it either.
