Hey guys. I've been real curious about what everyones Sandra scores have been with KT133A chipsets. I've been doing a lot of testing and I am quite surprised with the results. If you don't mind, how about listing your Board, CPU, memory, and hardrive along with the Sandra 2001 scores your getting. This is for comparison purposes only. I'll start:

System Info
Tbird 850 OC'd to 1000(133x7.5)
MSI K7T Turbo-R w 1.0V16 OC Bios
256MB Crucial Cas2 sdram
30GB Quantum Fireball Plus AS ATA100 hard disk

Scores
CPU: 2793/1374
Mem: 544/628
HD: 23918

So compared to the 1GHZ Athlon system in Sandra my scores are a little above average. The odd thing about this is that I set my CPU to 1000(100x10) and did not see a preformance drop in Sandra or in Quake III !!! WTF? The numbers were almost identical. How much of a performance increase are you guys seeing by going to 133fsb?

Abit KT7A
256Meg PC150 cas2
WD 20.5 ATA66

Duron 750 overclocked to 133x7.5, or 998MHz
CPU: 2768/1346
Mem: 519/566

Duron 750 overclocked to 140x7, or 980MHz
CPU: 2719/1322
Mem: 545/594

Duron 750 overclocked to 112x9, or 1008MHz
CPU: 2804/1362
Mem: 525/615

But, 112 FSB gives memory option of FSB+PCICLK. 133 and 140 do not.
112fsb = memory at 149MHz.
133fsb = memory at 133MHz.
140fsb = memory at 140MHz.

If you ran the Quake3 benchmark at a high resolution then it is limited by your video card not the CPU. If you run that test at say 640X480 then you should see a difference when you overclock your CPU.

My Results for Sandra,

T-Bird 750 (133 X 7.5) on K7T Turbo-R, 512 of Crucial 133, CAS2
CPU 2777, 1361
CPU Multimedia 5577, 6804
Memory 528, 608

I'm running the benchmarks at normal settings which defaults to 640x480. Practically no difference in the benchmark scores. I can't explain it.

why is rob's score higher with lower fsb? is it just the memory? so if you run 140x7.5 and 112x9 the 140 should be faster and better no?

CPU Multi-media : 5643 / 6875
RAM : 393/432

I don't o/c , it is not necessary.

9lives,

I agree with Losty that your Vsync should be enabled by default. I was suggesting that coomarlin "disable" it because he was seeing no difference in his Q3 score when he ocerclocks.

As for you not needing to overclock, I will also agree in principal with that. However, I'm assuming your 1Gig T-Bird is running at 10 X 100 and that might explain your memory scores. A change to something like 7.5 X 133 should greatly increase your system performance eventhough you are running basically the same speed.

I've got vsync disable on my Geforce2 GTS. That's the first thing I always do after a driver update. I can't explain why I'm not getting any better performance. I expected at least 6-10% performance gain.

And BTW, my CPU MM scores were 5566/6779

To recap Duron 750 with 9x112fsb with MM added.
CPU: 2804/1362
Mem: 525/615
MM: 5630/6832
HD: 15923 (non-Raid, ATA66)

Don't assume 140fsb would be faster and better than 112. In "most cases" it is not.
As I noted in prior post, 112 is faster.
Because of: CPU at 1008Mhz (980), mem at 149Mhz (140), PCI at 37Mhz (35), AGP at 75MHz, (70), 4X AGP at 300Mhz (280), IDE at ? but faster. Also, lower bus speed equals more "usable" multiplier options.

What boost does 140 or 133fsb give you besides internal CPU cache?

I'm not using the KT Chipset, but would like to know what can be done with low mem scores.

TBird 1100
IWill KA266-R (ALi MAGiK 1)
256 Corsair DDR1600
Maxtor 5T020H2 x2 on AMI RAID 0

Scores
CPU: 3110/1517
Mem: 423/549
HD: 31865

How do I get a little more bang for my buck out of my mem scores? Any help?

Just got mine up and running (finally)

MSI KT7 Turbo RAID, 1.0 Atlon (currently at 9.5 x 111 (gotta start somewhere)), "Micron" 133 CAS 3 from Axiontech, pair of IBM Deskstar 45's running RAID.

CPU & CPU Multimedia - (sorry - didn't write it down this afternoon. It was "about 5%", that is higher than the "normal" 1.0 Athlon, but well under 10% higher...

Memory 446/529 at 100MHz, 487/576 at 111MHz

HD scores were 38,618 at 100, 43,331 at 111 (surprised myself at the difference)

3DMark scores by the way are 5559 at 100, 5660 at 111 (older Hercules DDR-DVI)

I saw little difference on the CPU scores, but then I only went from 1000 to 1047...

hey guys, if you're going to run Sandra multiple times, make sure you reboot after running each test.
hopefully I'll have some Sandra scores on my incoming system (see RoboBRUTE link at bottom), I'll be going 9 * 150

=)
