this should be an excellent matchup....
I hate Michigan, but I have to give them credit, this is a very talented team...I think they use too much 'gimmick' stuff on D though...we'll see how that plays out...
USC, on the other hand, is also very talented....they have a number of NFL prospects on both sides of the ball....everyone talks about their offense, but their D line is very impressive.....
Please don't use the "they only played 1 top 20 team" crap - Wash St is very good, just ask Texas, and Cal, though 8-6 isn't a great record, can play as well, just ask V.Tech - and note that Cal's QB is a future 1st round NFL pick...Auburn is a solid, physical team, and USC shut them out....
bottom line? It's impossible to say with 100% certainty who should be ranked ahead of whom...it just doesn't work without a playoff...
I will say this though - any system that ranks Oklahoma ahead of USC or LSU as of right now, doesn't work right - you can't lose your biggest game of the year 35-14 and be the best team in the country. If you ask me, Oklahoma played the weakest schedule of the top 3 teams, but the strength of schedule ratings are skewed because North Texas, who won 9 games playing no-body's, makes their schedule look tougher than it really was.
If USC loses, then the LSU/Oklahoma winner is the champ, no questions asked.....but if USC wins (I think they will win a close game today), then there is no solution other than a split national champion, and that is what the BCS was supposed to prevent....
