Well....there we have it! Kepler was good enough to charge full price for the mid range and then make a whole new segment for the real card and charge a mountain of coin for it. Good job Nvidia!

So somewhat faster than 7970GHz edition for twice the price? Seems kind of weak to ask $1000, but then again I'm not an enthusiast.

If it sold, more power to them. Sucks for me but good for them.

What's the point of the benchmark NDA lasting 2 days longer than the spec NDA? Some of the previews mention that benchmarking has been completed, so it's not like NVidia is trying to make last minute driver improvements. Either lift both NDA's today, or wait 2 days, and have both lifted on the 21st. Why the delay unless the PS4 which is supposedly going to be announced tomorrow is utilizing a Titan GPU? (Obviously, it won't be, but that's about the only reason that makes sense)

Yeah for sure. It sucks for me too because I can't justify them but I WANT them. Two would be just fine actually for 1080p of course

GeForce GTX Titan is designed to be overclocked. NVIDIA received a lot of heat when they started limiting Voltages. Obviously they have done so in order to prevent high RMA rates. For GeForce GTX Titan this changes. At default your card will be locked at a maximum Core voltage of 1.162 mV.

Now read this very carefully, the board partners like MSI, EVGA and others get to decide whether or not you may unlock Voltage control. Inside the NVIDIA driver you can opt to unlock Voltage by agreeing to an EULA. That EULA will try to make you understand that applying higher voltages will decrease the lifespan of the product. So if the GeForce GTX Titan has been built for a theoretical 5 years productivity at 1.162 mV then tweaking the Voltage towards 1.250 mV could (in theory) halve that lifespan. Now here's the good news; unlocking the Voltage will not result in losing your warranty, let me be very clear about that. However, if you have a 2 year warranty and after 3 years the card dies as a result of voltage tweaking and thus the reduced lifespan... that would be the consequence and at your risk.

....

And that's where this article ends, sorry! Now we'll share the manufacturer suggested retail prices.

EUR 800 Ex VAT
GBP 827 Inc. VAT
USD 999 Inc. VAT

The Titan isn’t worth $600 more than a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition.

It's hitting 80C, 5C hotter than the 690!!

This turd just keeps smelling worse.
The MSRP Price is even higher, runs Hot from the factory. How much OCing can you do if it's already hitting 80C?

LOL! That guy is just unbelievable...

"Either way Titan is in line with AMD pricing. "

:awe:
According to Tom's, 7970 GHZ x2 costs 200$ less and is faster (probably by quite a bit)
Sure sounds like the pricing is in line... If you are a fanboy who jizzes his pants at the thought of Physx and CUDA maybe

I think the interesting part about this card is people who buy it will probably buy more than one, because thats really the only logical reason to do it, and if you have the money to burn, might as well go all the way

Actually it seems to be impressively quiet and pretty good on power consumption as well.
That's a good effort,take note AMD!

Wow, someone's hacked Wills login,?....LoL:biggrin:

Wonder if the quiet operation is the premium components or the design? How much more does a vapor chamber cost? Perhaps AMD could copy it for a 7970 refresh, that would be an awesome card considering the speed they can over clock too!

Nothing premium about it really :) The 7970 reference card uses a vapour chamber, nvidia and amd have both been using them for a long while.

I think Titan has a lot of its acoustic improvements coming from that oversized fan. It's much bigger than the usual fan you see on a blower card. That and probably the housing design. There are two sorts of noise from air cooled cards, the sound of rushing air and the actual sound of the fan. That design looks like it works on both.

Wow, this impressed me from Tom's:

.."This is significant because Nvidia enables overvolting on GeForce GTX Titan, explicitly affecting the card’s ability to hit higher GPU Boost frequencies. Maxing out the voltage settings exposed through EVGA’s Precision X software, we were able to increase our sample’s clock from a typical 876 MHz to nearly 1.2 GHz—all while keeping the GPU’s temperature under a defined threshold of 87 degrees Celsius."

Beast...

That's under water though isn't it?, didn't toms get the tri sli unit as well?....if it wasn't for the price, this could be the best card ever?

Edit - got that wrong, it's Anands that's under water, so yeah, nearly 1.2 on air....surely this will level the perf of the 690?
