God this is depressing. Back in the 80's, the Royals were the Yankees rival. We'll be lucky not to lose 100 games.

I'm sorry. I am a huge Red Sox fan, but how this lineup is not as great as everybody says it is.

The last time the Yankees and Red Sox met each other at Yankee Stadium, Boston slugged its way to a lopsided win in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, completing one of the most remarkable comebacks in baseball history.
The Red Sox used that victory as a springboard to their first World Series title in 86 years, while the Yankees were left to ponder another offseason of changes.

Now, just 165 days after the Red Sox celebrated on the Yankees' home turf, the two teams will kick off the season with the Majors' first game of 2005. Although the two rivals will meet 19 times this season, Yankees manager Joe Torre believes that the AL East will be decided by much more than those meetings.

Pfft, yankees' pitching lineup is overrated and old.

Also, A-rod sucks (and he slaps like a sissy). He's probably getting some on the side from Jeter :D

our Sox lineup isnt much younger, both are goodm Ace vs Ace, shill and RJ is a tough call either way

IMO both teams are about equal all around, making a prediction now about what will happen in september is pointless, NY and Bos will most likely finish 1 and 2 in the division like always tho

should be a good game tonight
about a 1/3 of my fantacy team is made up of sox and yabks so here hopeing for some points

Shill should be back in a week or so, thery predict him pitching on the 11th i beleive

Only when he pees ;)

Har har very funny - yes I am going inside, not very good seats but considering I missed the opening ticketmaster bell by like 2 minutes I'm surprised I got tickets at all.

Rivera pwned again. First blowing the World Series to Arizona in 01, then giving it up to Boston last year. He's blown his last 4 tries vs Boston... NY. needs. new. closer. vs. Red Sox.

Go Sawx

I dunno how the Red Sox are gonna do this year.

I'm not gonna ask for two in a row.

 What??!! Why not?? I hope the BoSox go to the World Series again after beating the Yanks again in the ALCS.... then lose against the Mets in the World Series ;)

ok..thats a dream but why the hell not. You should want your fav team to win EVERY year..nothing greedy about that!

Heh, that'd be funny if they did beat the Yanks in the ALCS and lost to the Mets in the World Series. Maybe the hot new rivalry would be Mets/Red Sox, as 1986 will be the Sox new curse. :)

They should name a baseball team the Ninjas. That would be cool.

The New York Ninjas!

Then we could have a real debate about Ninjas vs Pirates!

For Rivera's sake I'm glad he got shelled early in the season.

He really could use a changeup... That would most definitely prolong his career.
