I was just thinking about how the 8800GT 512MB was supposed to reside in the $200-250 price bracket but seems more than that lately.

Just over a month later, the 8800GTS G92 is released and we have this article with a handy chart showing all the different features of the various 8800 series cards (and 8600GTS).
Look at the prices. 8800GTS 512MB $349+, 8800GT 256MB $219-$229, 8800GT 512MB $299-$349.
I guess we're not supposed to expect $200 8800GT 512MB cards anymore.
