-TBF Bloodborne has acheived cult status and it's spoken off probably too highly of in gaming circles.

A lot of people would pick it up just to see what the fuss is about.

It does have a fantastic style and presence to it.

Agreed.

In my estimation, Bloodborne has amassed enough die hard fans of the game where a clique reaches a critical mass whereupon it takes on a life of its own, similar to Apple during their early years. As with Apple, Bloodborne has in abundance that clique-like phenomenon where any criticism of the game will be met with fierce opposition, it not outright anger. While, of course, I do have some criticisms of the game (nothing is perfect), they're very minor when compared to other games, at least it is for me.

In my view, for those of us in the Bloodborne clique (I'm a proud member, as I am with the Church of Apple), the game has taken on an almost mythical quality to it, where any potential sequel will likely be viewed in a lesser light; even if a Bloodborne 2 were greenlit, I'm not sure any potential sequel could possibly improve upon the "perfection" of the original as it exists in our minds--this is, in my estimation, what a generational masterpiece instills into its fans. For instance, ER is almost a perfect game in many respects, in my view, but I can recall the vast amount of FROM fans claiming the original DS was not only a much better game but surpasses it in almost every aspect.

Perhaps, Bloodborne is best left in its current state where it can remain unbesmirched in the minds of its millions of hardcore fan where it may live on in perpetuity, if only because, from a selfish perspective, I am enjoying so much all of the wonderful content from their fanbase.

Bloodborne as an exclusive, so it's inherently going to have fewer sales than Dark Souls. Instead of closing Blue Point, Sony should have had them work on a Bloodborne remaster to bring to PS5 and PC. Would have sold millions, easily.

This makes the most business sense to me, and what I would have done had I been running Sony Interactive. However, I just don't think Sony views the millions worthwhile as they appear to be more focused on the next live service blockbuster. High risk high reward vs low risk low reward, relatively speaking.

Not that I'm in any position to suggest how Sony should run its business, but assuming they were going to downsize the studio, why not do so after a Bloodborne remaster and/or PC port? I would have gladly bought both on day one.

I'm ready for tonight.

Anyone else playing RE9?

This game is so good. It's tough for me to put it down. I probably have like 8-9 hours into it already. The only bad part is that I'm going to probably finish it so quickly.
