Wow. I thought they deserved to be suspended, but not for that long. I hope they are able to do something to the idiot fans involved too (ban them for life from games or something, I don't know what they could really do)

Safe to say the Pacers are going to flat out suck the rest of the season.

Im sorry but Ben Wallace should have been suspended longer than 6 games. It was your typical hard foul in the NBA and his actions set off the events that followed. He is culpable for the melee and 6 games is a joke.

I'll repeat what I've said all along: Detroit fans are trash.

Artest's suspesion is too harsh IMO.

good, he was an a$$hole for what he did, he attacked the wrong guy

that first dude with the blown out hair should be gone for a while too since he started the whole thing

the person that threw the cup was probably the black person in they grey hoodie, not the white guy with the glasses that artest attacked

I can't wait til I catch a few Pistons game this year...maybe another hockey game'll break out :)

I'm KIDDING, btw...this whole ordeal is just pathetic. I also hope that they are able to identify any fans who threw things or stepped onto the court and ban them for life.

WTF, I expect Stephan Jackson to get more games suspended than 30.
No one is dissing him because he is simply insignificant, yet he went up to the stands and started punching people.

I have a weird feeling about this one. Ron Artest is not all there in the head, and just doesn't rank real high in the character department. I don't think Ben Wallace has a very bad reputation prior to this fight. This makes his reaction to Artest's foul seem strange, and makes me think other things were being said or done prior to this, and the hard foul was the last straw for Ben. Does it excuse Wallace, no, but i feel like there is something else at work. I don't think Ron Artest laying on the table was him backing off, I think it was his strange, passive aggressive way of messing with Wallace. It made me think of a HS bulley who messes with a kid everyday, and one day the kid pushes him, the teacher sees this, and the bulley just sits down and smiles, just to taunt the kid, knowing he got him in trouble. As far as his actions starting everything, i don't buy that completely. Ron Artest made a choice to attack someone in the crowd, he could have got upset and pointed out who he thought threw beer at him, and stayed on the court. Being pushed by Wallace didn't make him jump in the crowd. You could say he was pissed off b/c of being pushed and that influenced his choice, but he has to realize that he gets paid millions of dollars to play basketball, and sometimes he is going to have to walk away from some BS like name calling or someone throwing a beer. Just my .02 :)

He made a decision to take matters into his own hands. F' him for thinking all the rules
don't apply to him

He had this coming. He is DONE. Forget about it and cry elsewhere.

indeed. i think that artest got screwed because he doesn't have a reputation as being a nice player (as opposed to big ben), and that the game was in detroit.

if you ask me those stupid fans also deserve some sort of punishment. just because the players make millions of dollars doesn't mean that they deserve a beer in their face.

another case of alcohol fuvking things up.

btw, who artest attacked is irrelevant. i keep seeing it here and there. whethor or not artest got the guy that attacked him should'nt have and probably didn't have any impact on the suspension.

Ben Wallace deserved more than 6 days.

wtf ever man. he in NO WAY made artest go up in the stands. Thats all on artest. He did that on his own!!!

Quit looking to place blame elsewhere.

PLAYERS CAN NEVER GO INTO STANDS. Is that hard for you to comprehend????? Big Ben didn't have sh!t to do with Artest going into the stands PERIOD.

And in basketball, players push players ALL THE TIME.

Dumbass.

Wallace caused the whole freaking sh!t with the fans. If it wasnt for Wallaces ridiclous response to a marginally hard foul the whole sh!t with the fans would have never happened. Wallace started the fight that lead to a melee, he is JUST AS culpable as anyone else.

Ben Wallace deserved more than 6 days.

out of curiosity, why do you think Ben deserved more than 6 games?

take away all that happened after Ben and Artest's altercation, and there have been much worse fights.

and, imo, you can't blame Ben for Artest's choices with attacking fans.
