I am looking to purchase this chip/mobo combo and overclock it a bit and I could really use your help. Putting myself aside though I think a lot of people will benefit from the info in this thread.

The more info you give the better. Voltage, bus speeds, etc...

Ok, let's see what you guys are running!

Gigabyte GA 8IGX (845G chipset)
P4 1.6A @ 2.14 default voltage (bus at 134MHz)
Samsung 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM at 356MHz 2-5-3-3 setting, +0.1V (with active Thermaltake cooling set)
Pine GeForce 3 Ti 200 at 220/550 - 8905 3DMarks (2001 SE, build 300) - default voltage

Just to mention - if you are going to buy a 845G based mobo - don't use Kingmax DDR333 256MB memory sticks with it, as those have incompatibility issues with the chipset (tried it and read about it on different forums).

Happy OC'ing.

What have you been smoking....there is no 1.9a!!!!

1.6@2.736ghz 1.71v (684fsb): 1.6@2.533ghz 1.53v
Epox 4BDA i845d
Antec 350 watt PSU
512MB Corsair pc3000 Cas2 running at 342mhz ddr cas 2,6,3,2

Got a 4G4A+ coming...hoping the 4:5 ratio will be better to work with then the 3:4 ratio of the i845d...hopefully will be same speed but 428mhz ddr cas 2.5,6,3,3.

I have no clue what you did with your system Duvie....what ghz did your chip start at?

two intel chipsets so far.

Maybe I shouldn't be looking at the SiS chipset on the Abit SR7-8X board?

See my sig for one setup I can do. I can also run

1.6a @ 2.56 (1.6V) 160fsb 4:5 ratio so my mem is at DDR400 (2.6V) with timings at 2.5,6,3,3

Cheap generic 300W powersupply
Stock heatsink. Good case ventilation.
Overclocked Radeon 8500 if that matters to you. PM if you have any questions.
