PALM BEACH votes:

Gore: 268945
Bush: 152846
Bucanan: 3407
Nader: 5564

If 1% of Palm Beach Gore Voters were mistaken, Bucannan would have gotten around 3000 votes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, and Buchanan's next highest vote was 1100 of so in Pinnellas (sp?) Co.

There's no way he pulled 3500 legitimate votes in Palm Beach.

Those Nader votes seem to be pretty crucial ones.

<< I think the county will get to revote >>

No way in hell is that going to happen. All registered voters got a sample ballot before the election so that they could familiarize themsleves with it and ask questions if need be. If some people were too stupid or lazy to inform themselves then they got what they deserved.

This will be interesting if they do a re-vote in Palm Beach county. Very interesting. Republicans will be crying foul (as will some Democrats, I'd imagine), and no one (from either party) seems convinced that Buchanon should have that many votes. What we should do about it (since it was a measure of voter stupidity, generally), is a different issue.

If there is a re-vote in Palm Beach, it's not just the Politians that are gonna cry 'foul'. I can't see how ONE COUNTY should have the right to determine the Presidency. A re-count yes, a re-vote NO. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

on another note:

<< Jeb lifted the exhaust inspections on cars >>

What was his reasoning on this one Isla? Don't future federal laws require a tightening of pollution laws?

<< In fact, Buchanan appears to have done better in Palm Beach, which is heavily Democratic, than in comparable areas. He won 3,407 votes there, but got only 789 in Broward County, which lies immediately to the south, and 108 in Martin County, which is immediately to the north of Palm Beach. Hillsborough County, which tends to be conservative, gave Buchanan 800. >>

Something sure seems strange to me.

Well, welcome to hell! If a judge rules it so,it will be so,and our opinions will not matter one iota.

A re-vote in the specific county that the alledged irregularies occured is a remedy available to the citizens affected, and can be implimented at the orders of a judge,be it a district judge or a federal judge.

This is per the Florida attorney general.

I VERY seriously doubt a re-vote will happen. Re-count yes, but unless they could prove massive fraud, they'd be crazy to hold a re-vote. We can't help it if 3,000 people in FL are too fvckin' stupid to read a ballot.

Maybe they'll be more careful next time, or at least bring their glasses.

Are u listening to the news? The story is that someone manipulated the machines or whatever. These people were DUPED into voting for buchanen. Its not a simple case of stupidity from what i've seen. anyhow, is that how you bush supporters really want to win? Heh, bringing honor and dignity back to the white house eh?

If the Republicans set up Palm Beach like that, then why not make the votes go toward Bush? Also the ballot creator was a democrat. Bush gets Oregon. Bush will lead Florida by 900 votes and then Military Absentee will give him a 2,000 vote lead. Sorry but Bush wins. I know you will blame Nader, or blame Al for being too liberal. When do you liberals not whine? Anything that doesn't go right, you all bitch about. That is why you are a liberal!

And who is the attorney general for FL? It's Gore's campain manager for FL!!! The Dem's are crying foul already because Jeb is the gov, but he has nothing to do with the recount. They are planting misinformation to distract everyone while they pad their vote count.

Why would it be more suspicious? They would have known that giving Buchanon a ton of votes would stand out, but that Bush would just blend in. Answer that one, oh smarter one.

Bush ought ot concede if he trusted the people. But that aint gonna happen.

At least he'll be a lameduck president who gets little done. Which is good for America.:)

Bush supporters are running around yelling ONLY .79% were for Buchanan in Palm Beach county, a highly democratic area. Like thats almost nothing. The percent for Buchanan in all of Florida was .31%

I don't think having over 2 and 1/2 times the percentage in a highly demoratic area than in Florida's state average is small!!

For those interested .79% is 3407 people in West Palm Beach county. The difference between Bush and Gore was 1725 in Florida*!
