My 2015-16 NHL regular season predictions and thoughts (which will no doubt be very wrong):

SJ will be good again.
LA is going to be strong, and make the playoffs again, to the horror of whoever gets them in the first round.
Central will be an absolute war. STL takes 1st, with an extremely tight battle between the remaining other six teams.
CGY's improved lineup mitigates their regression, but not enough to make playoffs.
Other than ARI, bottom half of Western conference stays in the hunt for most of the season.

Metro is very good, other than NJD.
Wouldn't be surprised if CAR makes playoffs.
BUF improves massively.
TBL is the only really good team from the Atlantic.

Oh and Connor McDavid isn't likely going to be leading or at the top of the scoring race.
But he'll be fine. Just isn't that easy to rack up points in this league anymore.

As a Sabres fan, the last two season were rough. This year will hopefully be a lot more watchable.

IIRC, Toronto's own coaching staff predict this will be a wash out year for the Leafs.

Could go either way for the kings, though I'm not sure how I feel about the 3 on 3 OT, that's going to slaughter the kings even worse than OT did last year, they don't do so well with more open ice.

Injuries could be a good thing as it will allow some of the Wings young players to be promoted up from Grand Rapids, Datsyuk's injury is allowing Larkin to play for example. I think the WIngs look very good this year, lots of youth and speed, and great depth.

Jack Eichel scored a goal in his first NHL game. :thumbsup:

Evander Kane scored less than 2 minutes later to tie the game, but it was called off in a coach's challenge for an offside that occurred well before the scoring play. The challenge also took forever to conclude, killing the momentum Buffalo had. :thumbsdown:

Habs have started the season well and look like they may have an actual back-up for Price. Their PP may be even worse than last year.

Penguins look terrible. Crosby is out of character for sure. As a Rangers fan, I don't mind this at all
