Nice that the Wings have finally figured it out.

Lucky that Eaves only has a broken jaw, that puck off his ear looked like bad news.

Maybe the Avalanche can go after Boudreau

Can't be any worse than the Sacco shit we have now

won't happen...

boudreau is still under contract with the caps, but has been relieved of his coaching duties.

why does this matter? any team who wants to speak to boudreau, needs to get permission from the caps

so what? The caps won't give the avs permission since we have the avs 1st round pick in the upcoming draft. in short, the caps won't do anything to help the avs succeed this season.

Anyone see the disgusting display put on Saturday night by the Canadiens? P.K. Subban needs a few broken limbs. I'm pretty pissed off at the Penguins for allowing him him to run rampant like that.

Too little, too late for the Whalercanes. They're 5pts out and have played 2-3 more games than everyone else. They're just going to end up with a worse draft pick.

That said, as a former Whalers STH there isn't enough bad shit in the league/game that can fall on that scumbag ownership group. Kuck Farmanos!

Rutherford should have promoted Dave Lewis.

No, but lemme guess... diving, chirping/slashing after the whistle, diving, hiding behind the linesmen in scrums...?

Typical PK Scubadiver antics.

Imagine if the Devils had fired MacLean and traded Langenbrunner a month and a half earlier last year... and they started out a lot more than 5 points out of 8th place.

Yeah that was an amazing late-season run that came up just a whisker short. A full year with a healthy Parise may have gotten them in the playoffs but I don't think they would have gone deep. *shrug*

You're right, because they're not a great team anymore. They have some talented young guys though, and with the team being frugal now I think they'll be keeping the young guys rather than trading them for veterans. They'll be back. 🙂

Lou Lams knows what he's doing. I'd never say one of his teams is 'down for the count'.

He'll figure out how to work with Kovi's cap hit, ZP's impending UFA, and Marty on his way out the door.

Pretty much. Along with a couple trips, hauling our d-man down after the whistle, etc. Utter B.S. and I cant believe he gets away with a tenth of it. The refs dont do anything about it, and neither did the Penguins Saturday. Disgusting.

OK, what western division team should I start cheering for? The Stars are toast. The only reason they were staying in it at all was because of their goalie, Lehtonen. Now that he's out and Raycroft is the starter, Dallas doesn't have a chance.
Must suck to be Gaglardi. You buy the team when they are on a slide and they turn it around your 1st day as an owner and things look good. Then the slide and now the one guy keeping you somewhat competitive is out.

Is the officiating this season worse than the usual terrible officiating?
How is it that skating by and trying to avoid a goalie, but brushing him called Goalie Interference, yet running head long into the goalie that has a puck under him not interference?

I have to watch that whole team of Smurfs six times a year plus the POs. Ugh... I hate them so much. PK will get his eventually...

Your boys had the last laugh Saturday after Letang won it in OT. Shanny might be sitting MaxiPad for his headshot too. Win Win.

And grats to Sid for his first star of the week.

I'll be prettty goddamn frustrated if Max gets suspended for that hit after there was no supplemental discipline for the hits on Dainus Zubrus and Anton Volchenkov last week. That was garbage.

I watched a few YouTubes of the hit and it looked like MaxiPad keeps the elbow tucked pretty tight until after contact. Gonna be interesting how Shanny comes down on this.

If he gets suspended there might even be some 911 calls from Scabsville...

Yeah, but I thought that hits that targeted the head were illegal now, elbow or no elbow.

If only he could be more like Matt Cooke 🙂

maybe your new coach can do better, same with the caps.

saw that today....maybe. i think they definitely needed a coaching change, i also think some players will need to move before long but id like to see what muller can do with what he has.

im not expecting any kind of miracle work, but maybe they will at least be consistently decent and can improve the special teams play.

Touche. Fair post, though, and I'll be the first to say I wish we would have sent Cooke packing last year. I cant stand him, I dont want that kind of player on our team. I dont want it from anyone else and I certainly dont want it COMING from us. Having said all that, however, he's really kept his nose clean so far this year.

I just saw the pics of Neal's high stick on that douche Subban after he got slew footed. Holy shit, Neal was fined $2500!

I think 3 games is fine, but it's a little more than what's been normally given out lately it seems. If this is the NHL adjusting course and going for harsh suspensions for headshots I'm for it. If it's just random variance, then that sucks for Montreal.

Sharks! Although seriously, if you want a young team that's interesting you could look at Nashville, they are locked down their big stud players (Shea, Weber, Rinne) and are always more competitive then they should be. Hopefully spending money they will continue to overperform (though not at the expense of the sharks).

I have Lehtonen and Miller for my fantasy goalies, my team has been pretty fubar'd.

I don't think officiating has been worse, but I haven't caught a lot of games. There have been some dumb calls as there always is.

Not to nitpick but Rinne (Vezina finalist last season) is the only 'stud' signed long term so far. Shea Weber (one defenseman) has a one year deal but is RFA next season. Ryan Suter will be an UFA next year.

I do like that team though. Trotz is a damn good coach and they had a nice playoff run last year.

I only wish Neal woulda rammed that stick down the asshole's throat. Subban infuriates me. That's the same B.S. that sliced Staal open last year and he continues to get away with it.
