Honestly I hope we make the playoffs. Playing like that is just pitiful. We relied on 4 turnovers and tons of 49ers penalties. I think the 49ers most def have a good team, looked better than the saints

Poor 49ers. They lost from turning the ball over and they almost came back.

Bush's injury looked serious. Maybe some knee tear or something. It'll be a big loss for the Saints. Bush may not get huge numbers but he draws a lot of double teams to give the other guys 1 on 1 coverage.

couple of quick thoughts..

Patrick Willis is as good against the run as any linebacker I've EVER seen

49'ers are very close to being a very good team - lots of very good, young, talent - O-line has some keepers that don't get much pub either

Alex Smith grew up tonight, there shouldn't be any more talk about them having a problem at QB

good to see replay working well, that Davis 2pt conversion was well handled

I just got back from the game..

Agree with your points NeoV. Smith still has some work, but I liked what I saw. It was unfortunate those 2 tipped passes fell for INTs. That Walker fumble and the dropped INT killed us.. as well as that muffed punt. Too many mistakes, but I did like how the 49ers played defensively against a great offense like the Saints. Just hope the players bounce back from this loss.. was pretty heart-breaking. I just knew there was too much time on the clock after that 2pt conversion. :(

Wow...I was up by 35 points, thinking I had it made....all the guy I was playing had was Gore + Saints defense still active.

He almost beat me...I held him off 103 99. Thank gawd Gates and Shaub had monster weeks.

dude, it's not a foul ball. no sport other than baseball lets you keep stuff.

check that - you can keep a hockey puck. but not a helmet

From my link above"

The unspoken rule in the NFL is that anything that goes in the stands, stays in the stands."

Anyway...helluva game tonight. I'm not a fan of either team, so I was able to root and hoot all the way through...I L-O-V-E a close, hard-fought game, (especially when it's not one of my favorite teams doing the point see-saw) and tonight's game wasn't the least bit disappointing for me. Lots of excitement, lots of "drama," lots of "OMG! Did you see that pass/reception?" all the way through.

Niners should've won by atleast 2 touchdowns. So many mistakes.

How is Bush and his leg injury ? The Saints don't look as impressive as they did last season.

It's good to see the Steelers defense back to old form. Hopefully once Rapelisburger comes back our offense will be back in form as well.

Jacobs wants off the Giants. Good riddance too, I say. You're banged up, and you're trying to be Bary Sanders. I hope we get a few good tackles and guards for him.

I also can't believe the 49's. they had every opportunity to win yesterday but their special teams and QB cost them the game.

Also, the titans didn't hand that game to the steelers. The steelers D came out and made everyone on the field their bitch. I don't think it would have mattered who we were playing. Our D was playing lights out.

P.S. I want to have Troy Polomolus next baby.

Your team should be very proud in winning at the "special" Olympics every season.

If Reid doesnt start Vick he is in for some shit if Eagles lose next week....

He needs to start Kolb for week 3, it's just the way it is. Now, if Kolb is absolutely terrible in the first half, there's a chance we'd see Vick start the second half. If not, and Kolb is awful for the entire game, then I think there's a much better possibility of seeing Vick start week 4.

I'm glad the Saints pulled it out last night. It's good to be 2-0. I know it didn't look like the Saints of last year, but I'm just going to convince myself that it's because as the current champions, we have a larger target on us than some other teams may have. It's not so hard to see that the 49ers gave us their best shot last night.

I know that all sounds a litter homerific, but that doesn't make some of it possibly true. :)

Saints have gotten lucky against two teams that defeated themselves. They didn't play badly, but they could have put the game away and didn't. That goal line stand just before the 2-minute warning by the 49ers defense was impressive. It was a close game despite a 4-0 turnover ratio in favor of the Saints.

They're not a bad team but calling them #1 is a bit hasty. I'd rank them around 5-7.
