Indy, your defense is over rated as well. Without Freeny, you have absolutely no pass rush and your secondary can't tackle worth a shit.

The ravens are killing me. The way we've been playing I'm impressed we've got the record we do. I think we can make it to the playoffs, but beyond that I don't expect much.

Well hopefully you can at least stick around long enough to take out the Patriots for us (steelers). Then we can hand it to you in the AFC championship game like usual. ()🙂

Overrated? I don't think ANYONE thinks the Colts defense is anywhere near good, so I don't think you can call it "overrated." By the way, you also forgot Mathis and Bethea, who both have appeared in multiple Pro Bowls and are exceptional defensive players. When healthy, Sanders certainly is too, but you can't count him and the Colts need to cut their losses because they have an excellent backup in Melvin Bullitt (unfortunately, injured).

In all fairness, while the defense certainly is weak, they have played well enough to win the last few weeks and the offense has been what lost us these games.

Last Sunday, surprising news about the Redskins coaching staff and QBs Donovan McNabb and Rex Grossman emerged in a FOX report that said the coaches had prepared Grossman to replace McNabb against the Buccaneers if the latter struggled.

That didn’t happen in Washington’s one-point loss to Tampa Bay.

Yet it appears Washington’s staff might take it a step further this week. According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, via Pro Football Talk, the Redskins are considering starting Grossman in place of McNabb this Sunday vs. the Cowboys.

In response, Kelli Johnson of CSN Washington tweeted that she had talked to a team source who didn’t believe that to be true.

Grossman and McNabb split first-team reps last week in practice, so look for that to happen when the Redskins return to practice Wednesday. Still, how hard up must the Redskins be if they feel they have to start Grossman – a QB who gives them virtually no chance to win? Also, what does that say about McNabb’s future with the Redskins?

there is no future for him with the skins. i see the skins grabbing QB with first pick in the next draft when ever that will be with the pending lockout. Andy Reid is looking like a genius now that the season has been played.

But didn't they just sign him to something like a $78 million contract? How much is guaranteed?

At the rate the franchise is going, there may be no future for Shanahan there, either.

The Skins will never get it together...sheesh

i think snyder will give him at least 1 more season, i can't see him changing coaches right now with the lockout looming unless cowher falls into his lap and wants job 😀

I don't think he's gone before next season, but I do think he'll be on a short leash. The trade for McNabb has been nothing short of a disaster and it seems like he unnecessarily antagonized both McNabb and Haynesworth this year.

Synder is a moron who makes success under him nearly impossible and I was surprised when Shanahan took the job. I don't think Cowher or Gruden are dumb / arrogant enough to roll the dice with the Redskins. If I were them I'd take nearly any other job in ahead of the 'skins.

That's exactly right. Snyder is a slightly more clueless version of Jerry Jones. No big-time coach is going to work for him and Shanahan wouldn't have either if he would've had a better option.

I really hope cowher doesn't take a job with a terrible owner. I respect him too much as a steelers fan to see him crash and burn because of a shitty owner like washington, dallas, oakland, etc...

It doesn't get much better as a coach than working for the Rooneys. The Crafts are great too.

I think Cowher is still looking at Carolina, depending on what level of control he'd be given.

I'd now put Irsay up there too. He bends over backwards for his staff.

It's no surprise that the three ownership groups you mentioned happen to being running the most successful franchises of the last decade. Good ownership is hard to come by and it has a tremendous impact on the entire organization.

Manning is the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Kinda surprising because I think several guys did more, but maybe he's getting it because of his lack of production.

sheesh. Steve Smith and Clint Sintim now on IR for the Giants.
Like the defense last year, the Giants WR corps is being decimated. Hixon, Sinorice Moss, Ramses Barden, and now Smith. Nicks and Manningham are banged up as well.

Looks like the run game has to step it up now. Its too bad, at full strength, the Giants had one of the better prolific offenses in the league.

umm grossman and mcnabb did NOT split reps with the first team last week at all, so that whole report is bunk.

i heard this from the local beat reporter who is at all of the practices.

PFT is worthless.

you don't know much about football at all if you think the QB position is the problem with the redskins offense, and if you think they are going after a QB with the first pick...

bruce allen STATED that the offensive line is the #1 priority in the next draft. he has already confirmed this.

it should be pretty evident at this point that the QB position is NOT the problem with the redskins if McNabb is barely looking better than JC17 did on the skins.

if you've seen any of the games as well you would know how many times the redskins receivers are dropping passes that should have been caught by a professional football player.

The Pittsburgh Defense should have gotten runners up at least.

Hahaha, agreed.

McFadden had a hell of a day on Sunday, as did Brady. I don't see what Manning did that was more impressive.

It's not really important, but sometimes they announce real head-scratchers.

Yeah WTF. I suppose if the Colts do well next year they'll name him Comeback Player and give him yet another MVP on top of that?

PS not hating on Manning, he's a great and unique player. I think sports reporters have a bit of a love affair with him though.

Mathis has been more productive than Freeney over the previous 3-4 seasons, at least.

Though, much of that is certainly due to the presence of Freeney. I can't imagine a better DE tandem in the league over that time period.

were in my statement did i say that was the problem with the offense? all i said was he has no future with the skins. you are putting words in my text. i agree the offensive line is a big problem for the skins. has been for years since the hoggs retired. to me the skins main problems are the offensive line, portis needs to retire and be replaced , wide receivers need to catch ball - cooley cant do it all, need offensive coordinator, defensivly they need better depth at saftey and cornerback, linkebackers to play 3-4 defense they are trying to play or go back to 4-3.
