Why's the clock still running after McNabb ran out of bounds?

From the NFL rule book:

With the exception of the last two minutes of the first half and the last five minutes of the second half, the game clock will be restarted following a kickoff return, a player going out of bounds on a play from scrimmage, or after declined penalties when appropriate on the referee?s signal

Wow, I've been watching football for a long time and didn't know that. Crazy.

I've been watching for a long time too, and just noticed it myself either this year or last. I wasn't exactly sure on the "last two minutes, last five minutes" but i knew the clock would run until a certain point in each half. pretty crazy indeed.

The Bears are painful to watch without Orton. Last 9 possessions were an INT and 8 punts.

Would not have mattered with Orton, you can't start on the fucking goal line every series and expect to do anything.

The D sure can stop the run, but I think me and my 10 year old nephew could pass all day on them. Pathetic

I disagree. To many terrible passes to wide open recievers.

nah not really. Overthrew 2 maybe 3 guys. Orton wouldna mattered

This team needs a new coaching staff before anything changes. You would think after letting the titans pass all over them for series after series they would change something, but nope. Keep everything the same, never change the gameplan: Lubbie foobal.

The red line they put on the field was behind the line of scrimmage. The red line was incorrect, if you look at where the sticks are, it was 3rd and 10, and the red line they put on the field was about 6inches or so behind the line of scrimmage.

Told ya.

LOL

another challenge, this one is close call.

Goes against Eagles, but rule. Ball (in posession) crossed the goal line.
