Enjoy it now donks fans.. For it all ends on Saturday.

The difference here is that Broncs fans are playing on house money now. They thought it was over with months ago yet here they are playing in Round 2. As for the Patriots, if they somehow find a way to lose next weekend... lol. All the pressure is on them here.

It may have been against a broken Steelers, but a win's a win. I'm shocked

That said this game infuriated me with how stupid the NFL rules are. You can't challenge for a fumble because the dillweed blew the whistle already? Fuck that... if it was a backwards pass that ended in a fumble then it should be called that way and FUCK the whistle. Similar to how some calls can't be overturned for whatever random reason despite the official knowing he fucked up the call (which actually worked FOR the Broncos a couple years back, but still...).

Whatever... despite mistakes I think the Broncos deserved that win. Doubt it would have happened with a healthy Steelers team but it is what it is. 95% chance of getting spanked by the Pats next week, but I'm stunned there even IS a next week.

gorcorps is the only one that know why the Steelers lost.

Ike Taylor could not guard his man, it was painful to watch. I'm not sure what the Steelers defense was trying to do out there. There was no pressure at all on Tebow. He had all day long to do what ever he wanted.

I'm starting to think that age is playing a factor. The old guys just can't stay health. Mendenhall is not a guy that can play every down he needs to sub with redman or he will just end up hurt.

It sucks with all the holy rollers on facebook cheering Tebow on like he is son of god.

Hey, don't forget we were missing our starting Safety and Right Guard. Then Decker went out of the game early. Both teams had injuries, so I give that no weight in the outcome.

I wouldn't say no pressure at all. There were a few times where I saw Tebow almost go down, but he did his thing and scrambled away. Definitely less pressure than expected from the Steelers but he wasn't given a free pass by any means.

That's true, but I think that ankle hurt Big Ben a lot more than he'll admit. He's a tough guy but he was taken out a lot due to not being able to move fast enough. He hobbled along and was able to throw when he had a pocket, but with pressure he got screwed. It definitely wasn't a healthy Denver team vs. a completely drained Steelers but it's hard for me to call it even. Decker going down I thought was the end of us though, and coming back from that was the most impressive IMO.

no weight? lol. The difference in quality of injuries is always important.

Brady thrives on that sort of pressure. Pats 38, Donks 10

The best thing about football fans assuming the outcome of games not yet played is that the results can be so hilarious.

The best thing about being a fan of team that barely made the playoffs is that expectations are so low. Win? Awesome! Lose? We weren't that good anyway.

I've been a Steelers fan for more than 50 years. I'm used to seeing them not even make the playoffs. The outcome of today's game wasn't surprising...disappointing? Yes, but not surprising.
Yes, the Steelers were playing with a lot of second-string players due to injuries...but even if they'd have been at full strength, they have a knack for blowing games that they SHOULD win...or barely squeaking out a win.

I've never been much of a Roethlisberger fan. Yes, when he's healthy, he can come up with some spectacular plays...but like most Steelers quarterbacks, his interception rate is often the highest in the league...and that often causes embarrassing losses to teams that SHOULD be easily defeated.
I'd love to see Pittsburgh "buy" Flynn from GB. His contract is up, and if he's tired of being a second string quarterback, just waiting for Rodgers to get hurt...SOMEONE is going to make him an offer he can't refuse. I'd just as soon see it be Pittsburgh than some team like Tampa Bay or Minnesota.

(however, I suspect GB will make him a sweet deal to remain where he's at)

Matt Flynn's a free agent, how's GB going to keep him? Look at the money Kevin Kolb got to guess what type of offers Flynn will be receiving.

It's pretty much impossible for GB to pay Aaron Rodgers elite QB money and also put a semi-competitive deal on the table for Flynn. I think Jordy Nelson is a free agent as well, and I'm not sure GB can reasonably expect everybody not named Rodgers to take a home town discount. NFL playing careers are not very long and sometimes players get only one chance at a big money deal.

God hates Mike Tomlin.

I hate the steelers, but I may hate Tebow more. The steelers D played like absolute garbage. They should be embarrassed.

BoomerD, interception rates are basically random from season to season. Interception rate percentage means very little and total interceptions is really the stat that has any relevance. Overall big bens interception rate and overall interceptions is median for the league and never really highest in the league at all. I would like to see where you get your stats from that make you draw that opinion. Ben also ranks very high for qb efficiency in the history of the league and also ranks rather high historically for a few other QB stats.

Big Ben is the best QB the steelers had since Bradshaw. Not sure how you're a steelers fan and not a fan of Ben Roethlisberger. If you've been a fan for 50 years then you've seen them win what, 6 Super Bowl titles and tied for most Super Bowl appearances in league history? That's like a 49er's fan staying they aren't a fan of Steve Young or Joe Montana.

You're used to seeing them not make the playoffs? Seriously? Are you talking out of your ass just because they lost today? I'm a Bills fan so I'm used to watching a team not make the playoffs and being bad in general. You're a lifelong steelers fan that is trying to downplay the success of the team in the wake a poor loss. Sheepish to the point of near ridiculous.

ps. Are you suggesting the steelers pay mid-level starting QB money to Flynn to acquire him as a backup, or to replace Ben? If you're suggesting paying for Flynn to replace Roethlisberger nearly right away, then I know for sure you're high on glue.

Yes, I KNOW Flynn is a free agent. That was my point. Will GB pony up enough to keep him satisfied for a couple more years as the back-up to Aaron Rodgers? I dunno. IIRC, you're right about Jordy Nelson. I'd hate to see him leave. Only time will tell whether GB wants him badly enough to pay him to stay.

Are you saying that because I'm a Steelers fan I have to like Roethlisberger?

Fuck that. Yes, he CAN be a good quarterback...but IMO, he's not a GREAT QB. Never has been, never will be.
This loss has little to do with my disdain for the current regime. If you go back through the threads over the past years, you'll see me often refer to them as "The Squeakers" because they "just squeak by" for a win more often than not.
Yes, "Big Ben" is the best QB on the Steelers roster since Bradshaw...but considering who's been in the position since then...that's not saying a helluva lot...and Bradshaw was not "the best quarterback in the league" either. He also had a bad problem with interceptions.

As for the Steelers history...yes, they've at least made ONE playoff game in MOST of recent years...but don't go past that often enough.
My dad was from western PA, closer to Buffalo that P-burgh...but he was also a Steelers fan and took me to a couple of games and several scrimmages when I was a kid.

There were a couple of years when they finished the season in the toilet...1-13, 2-12, 1-11-1...and more that they finished at .500 or below...

Roethlisberger is getting more and more banged up every year...and taking longer and longer to recover from his injuries. Between that and his "off season" behavior, he's getting to be a liability for the team. Charlie Batch is an OK back-up...but he's just not the quality of quarterback to do what the Steelers need.
Do I THINK Pittsburgh will "buy" Flynn and replace Roethlisberger? Fuck no...unlike MOST of ATOT, I don't do drugs...and am not into "fantasy football"...😛
(that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see P-burgh find a good replacement for Roethlisberger.)

BTW, Roethlisberger's stats:

2011 324/513 63.2% 21 TDs, 14 INT
2010 240/389 61.7% 17 TDs 5 INT
2009 337/506 66.6% 26 TDs 12 INT

Falcons season = fail

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Their season ended sooner than expected, so the Atlanta Falcons haven’t had time to come up with a title for their highlight film.

I’ll throw them a few suggestions:

"Fourth-and-inches: Next year, we’ll just kick it."

"Explosive or implosion?’"

"How I lost that Jacksonville job," narrated by Mike Mularkey.

“That Allstate commercial is not going to happen, but maybe I can fill in for that Mayhem guy," hosted by Roddy White.

Not a fan of the Broncos or Steelers. I love me some Baltimore Ravens though.

That was a hell of a way to win a game though.

I don't dislike all Steelers though I tend to steer away from slandering fans of other teams.

Sent from Tapatalk.

I feel the same way. Nothing worse than douchebags who love to talk shit all the time lol. Not being a fan doesn't mean I have a license to be a dick towards people who like a team.

My least favorite team is the Eagles, but I don't waste my time gloating or rubbing it in when they lose.

someone tell Big Ben that that outfit is god-awful, perhaps the worst dressing I've seen in years from an NFL player - and that's saying something.

If you've been a steelers fan for 50 years (which is likely considering you're nearing or surpassing 60 years of age) then you've had more success than failure. Cry me a river on the teams 6 super bowl rings! You're talking to a Buffalo Bills fan for life, I don't find your complaints about historical team failure even relatively compelling. I've held season tickets and been to way too many games and my soul hurts. Every team has its rising and falling. When the steelers rise, then win fucking rings! 🙂

We all have access to Ben's stats. Still relatively median, or better, for the league. Also in the past few years there has been a complete lack of QB talent in the league. So his stats contrasted against the league elite may be pedestrian, he's not awful compared to the rest.

Charlie Batch is a career backup. No one cares about career backups. Matt Flynn may or may not be a successful starter in the league. If he is, then he may be worth the mid-level starter money. If not, then I feel sorry for the suckers who will pay him to be a shit starter and career backup. In the current state of this league there are quite a few teams that will overpay for complete mediocrity (eg. ryan fitzpatrick). The steelers shouldn't get involved in overspending for Matt Flynn. Take a couple years and draft well.

Drugs are bad. Fantasy football is relative good and gets you involved with more than your favorite team. In a juxtaposition to your statements, you quoted stats which is typical of fantasy football players. Though the steelers won two super bowls with a QB who really didn't have the best stats for those years.

Actually, by "fantasy football" I wasn't referring to what people play...I was referring to fantasizing about the Steelers "buying" Flynn...I was merely postulating...😛

I've never played Fantasy Football...don't get the whole concept myself.

"Fantasy football? Cool...My team wins all the games and I win all the money." How's that for fantasy? 😛

I have 2 Steeler nut fans at work (think huge blow up Ben dolls and black/gold paint schemes), I am going to have a blast ripping them at work today!!
