Such bad officiating. 100% obvious it was backwards and they make Denver waste their last challenge.

Wow. Terrible call by the officials. Huge for Pittsburgh.

"You can't make that challenge because we messed up, oh, and you can't challenge our mess up."

That was broncos ball. Bullshit call and review.

It wasn't actually the review. It was the quick whistle on the wrong call.

They could have reviewed it, and it would have been a backwards pass, but it would have been blown dead when the ball hit the ground, netting 1/2 a yard. Lame call for sure.

Yep. "We incorrectly called it an incomplete pass, but you can't challenge that, so you'll have to go along with our missed call, now do you want to challenge the spot of the ball after out blown incomplete call?" Terrible.

The problem is that if it was a completed pass fumble with a whistle down, you can still recover the fumble after the whistle which was what the PIT challenge was in the 1st.

Wow. Another one they got wrong. Good thing Denver didn't challenge that last play or else they'd be out of challenges and wouldn't be able to challenge this one.

That's twice this weekend I've seen a game greatly affected because the refs didnt know when to not blow the whistle.

It's a scoring play, so it's reviewed automatically.

Falcons =) they will beat ny Giants! then destroy the girly packers. By girly i mean the linebackers with dreadlocks, then we will destroy the saints, and then finally go thermonuclear on the AFC team in the super bowl and we will win!

Well, if the Falcons make it past the Giants, they cannot do much worse against the Packers than they did last year in the Playoffs. Nowhere to go but up! But we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves, let's start with Matt Ryan getting his first playoff victory out of the way, first.

Nope. Once the whistle blows the play is dead. The difference between the two plays was that on the early play the Pitt player had the ball in his hands when the whistle blew but on the later play no Den player had the ball in their hands when the whistle blew.

If the early one had been ruled a catch and fumble then Pitt would have had the ball. In the later one the options were incomplete pass, which was the call on the field, or incomplete lateral which would have netted a loss of one yard. Once the ball hit the ground on the incomplete lateral the whistle blew and Den never had a chance to recover.
