I think the whole Yankee team was killed in a plane crash during spring training and they got look alikes to play for them.
In one week Randy Johnson, Chien-Ming Wang and Mike Mussina collectively forgot how to pitch. :|

I cannot believe how poorly the Yanks are playing this year. As a Red Sox fan, this makes me happy, but I will continue to be nervous about the Yankees until the day the Sox clinch the division.

It's just so hard to believe that this Yanks team can go an entire season slumping like this. Just as amazing, perhaps that the Sox are now in first place and have done it without their top three starters of last year. (Pedro, Schilling and D. Lowe)

Edit: And who would believe that trash heap pitcher David Wells has pitched in FOUR shutouts already, not even halfway through the season.

Quite the strange season.

I am at a loss for words. I can't figure out this team. They can be great one wekk and totally suck the next week. Then they'll be great again. It makes no sense whatsoever. I'm starting to doubt if they will make the playoffs.

I'm too disgusted in the teams performance (or lack of performance), really.

Its the 37-37 vs 37-37 game!You can't miss that!!!!

I do agree that the Yanks play like the Royals recently but still, i think this game tonight will be a great game.

Benson shut down the Yankees last time he faced them. Randy got lit up like the 4th of July last time he pitched. I don't know if it will be a good game at all.

You just KNOW something will happen if the Mets sweep the Yanks. I wonder if there are any Yankee fans that actually WANT the Mets to sweep just for the sake of making changes..y'know..like a major kick in the ass for the team.

Something will happen regardless. I don't know if you heard Cashman with Mike and the dog on Friday (or was it Thursday?), but he sounded like he was trying to make some big moves. He did say though that Cano and Wang were probably staying put.

I think both Cano and Wang have proven that they are major leaguers so far..at least Cano for sure as you'll have to wait and see how Wang handles teams the second time around. It would be a mistake to get rid of them though I could see at least one of them (probably Wang) going if the Yanks make a big trade.

Who could they get though?? Those are some nasty contracts that some players have though someone like Womack is sure to go. You would have to think the Yanks will have to eat up some salary if they try to trade someone.

Well, the Yankees could take on some more salary this year because they have more than $30 million coming off the payroll next year in Bernie and Brown.
