For shield users: Explosives work well. A semtex stick will kill them. Even if you don't stick them, throw a semtex or something behind them slightly and that works pretty well too. If you have a grenade launcher, fire just to their side, or at the wall behind them if they're up against a wall. Flash and stun grenades work too. The shield provides no protection against them. And since shield users have to smack you twice to kill you, you have a slight edge in melee combat if you move around quickly and don't lose track of them.

As for SCAR vs. ACR... depends on your play style. The SCAR takes one less bullet to kill than the ACR, but the ACR fires faster and has less recoil so you're landing more shots on the target. Most people love the SCAR's iron sights, but I like the ACR's sights equally. The SCAR also has less ammo. But they're both excellent guns. They're also both good candidates for non-Stopping Power builds. The SCAR because it has higher base damage and the ACR because it's so accurate. Use the ACR for a while and see how you like it.

I think you've got the ranges of the ACR and SCAR backwards blowfish, the laser-like accuracy of the ACR plays well into it's long range capabilities. It takes 1 more bullet to kill a guy but with less recoil and faster ROF it's fantastic.

And +1, ditch the heartbeat sensor, you'll start relying on it...most of my classes use Ninja which renders it useless.

I think you mean Astro, not me big man

do the ps3 and 360 versions of this game look identical? i was watching my cousin play the 360 version on a plain old sdtv and it looked freaking great.

Nope it was actually chorb who said the ACR is better for close range and the SCAR is better for long range. IMO (and IKabob'sO too), the ACR should be better at long range since you can easily put many shots on a target with it. The SCAR, on the other hand, is better at medium range because the higher recoil gives it a bigger firing cone, which doesn't matter so much at closer ranges.

Sorry, I meant Blortov, not you blowfish.

very close. imho i think the ps3 looks better on my setup but it could be my tv since the ps3 is going in via hdmi and the 360 was component. maybe my tv is better for hdmi - but i give the nod to ps3, although it is a very small difference.

I love heartbeat. I would say that only 1 in 3-4 matches has even one person with ninja. That's my experience with it. That's after a lot of matches with it, too.

what is the code on the back of the mw2 manual for? this is the ps3 version

For the VIP section, coming soon. I know it's unique, but it truly seems like no one in this topic has looked at the MW2 website. I've seen people mention time and time again something about looking up their stats, when it's been "coming soon" since the game released.

I really on seriously use ninja when I get ninja pro, and usually that's only for when I'm feeling frisky and run around like crazy with a tac knife. Otherwise Perk 3 is almost always commando or steady aim for me.

Hrm, I'm surprised you don't see more people with Ninja. There's really no better Perk 3 overall (unless you're a knifer or run and gunner), I use it on most classes.

I use Ninja on all of my classes, but I wouldn't go so far as to universally the best tier 3 perk. When I prestige a few more times and get some slots, I'm going to set up a few classes with SitRep. Claymores are EVERYWHERE in this game (at least in TDM) and it would be nice knowing where they are and getting a huge delay on them. The only problem is that it takes forever to get SitRep Pro. If SRP was easier to get, I'd probably choose it over Ninja once in awhile.

But I do really like Ninja. Not really for the anti-HBS ability, but I love silent footsteps (which I used in COD4 frequently especially in Hardcore). Being able to sprint while still being able to hear enemy movement (and them not hear me) is sweet.

scar + silcencer + scavenger pro + stopping power pro + ninja
works the best for me, even tho the rof is slightly slower, it takes
people down fast. i prefer it over the acr but it just depends how
i feel that day that i'm playing pretty much

I think Sitrep Pro is better if you're camping, since it makes enemy footsteps louder. But almost no one has it since it's crazy hard to unlock.

Oh yeah and I just got done with several matches where I completely wasted people. Went 36-6 one match. You know how right in the middle of Underpass, there are those pillars that you can climb up and snipe from? Well, the same two guys kept trying to climb up them, and I kept killing them over and over again. They never even looked in my direction. Once I got the chopper gunner, it was all over. Got about a dozen kills with it to end the match.

Then I went 16-7 the next match but we lost anyway because the guys I had slaughtered in the last match got moved to my team.

36-6 is pretty durn good, congrats. It always stinks though when you get paired with a guy or two who you know are terrible and will kill your chances to win. All you can do it try to pick up the slack though.

I've never used Sitrep, I thought it was a bit meh (although I used Bomb Squad on CoD 4 for one of my classes). Steady Aim I use on my run and gun, everything else has Ninja. Just seems to work for me.

I freaking hate underpass. My worst map by far. I just have a hard time spotting anybody because of the rain.

Look, I hate what Commando does (the extended range) - but no falling damage is AWESOME in this game. It's funny to run out of ammo and make someone chase you and they die from the fall.

+1, my least favorite map by far.

As for Commando and falling damage...how often do you find yourself in a situation where you're worried about dying from a fall? On my hundreds of games I can count maybe 5-6 times. Even on Favela you can drop off of the OpFor spawn hill with no damage if you land on the matresses.

I jump off a lot of tall objects, mostly because people don't expect it ... but that's me.

+1 no fall damage is great and has saved my ass plenty of times.

I've been bored lately so went to the total noob build.

Scar + noob tube
Javelin

Scavenger
Danger Close
Commando

BOOM

Not my favorite map, but I don't really mind it though. I usually go stealth with ACR+Silence+SOH+Cold Blooded+Ninja for this map. If enemy's are at the buildings by C, creep around the grass to get behind them. If enemies are around the A area, move silently from C and around them to A areas. Hide in grass, and wait for guys to run down the stairs. I do pretty well in stealth mode on this map.

Map I hate most is scrapyard.
