I noticed this, too. I tried Domination for a few hours the other day and almost lost my mind. Ironically, I racked up a ton of XP since I had ample opportunity to bomb/defuse: I had zero competition from my teammates since they were all camping and trying to get kills.

But my head finally exploded and I left in a tirade :twisted: . I won't be back to that game mode unless I have a good team with which to clobber noobs.

Just the way I run around on the map I end up with more crotch shots than head shots. I had a killing shot on Estate tonight and everyone was laughing at the killcam because I was just spraying bullets across the guy's ass.

I dun watch South Park...although for some reason last night I remembered the piece of the Tom Cruise episode I saw with R. Kelly.

I played some MTDM last night...and enjoyed it. Definitely a different style play than what I've been playing in Domination. Cold Blooded and Ninja become much more important than they were before playing domination. Seems like a LOT more people are using the heartbeat sensor on guns...also seemed like a lot more people camp.
 
Can we talk about how satisfying it is to blast a sniper (location you know, but can't get to without being sniped) with a Javelin...

Pissed off a sniper last night and broke his kills treak. Javelin ftw in this case.

I've unlocked the Javelin..but haven't used it yet...sounds like an awesome way to use it.

Best use ever. On Afghan if you stand on Humvee side near the TF141 spawn you can look through the bunker and hit campers on the hill on the other side of the bunker...I've got a ton of kills that way. Likewise if you are camping on said opposite hill you can hit the hill just behind the humvees by looking through the bunker. I've also got a ton of kills that way.

This is actually getting me quite excited about the Javelin...I might have to swap out my stinger setup with a Javelin. I'm assuming it puts a smack down on aerial craft as well like in SP?
 
Yup shoots down aircraft as well although it only comes with 1 missile, it takes longer to reach it's target, and it takes forever to reload. You can carry 2 missiles at a time if you've got Scavenger.

I use it best on Afghan as there's so many places that people like to camp. The path with the AA gun above the humvees if someone camps there just aim at the AA gun and let it rip!
 
That's a really clever use of the Javelin. I'm only level 33 but I'm excited to get there.

Does anyone else play on PSN? Do you guys use mics? It seems like there aren't nearly as many mics as there are on the 360 - according to my MS friends, at least. Although, I think the 360 ships with a little headset, so that might be it.
 
It's more satisfying to me to take out a sniper from long range with an assault rifle while he's aware of my location. Where's your scope now, bitch?
 
So I am miraculously up to Level 9 (yeah me, LOL) now.

So far I have only had 1 game where I have made more Kills than Deaths and oddly enough that was on a a rain soaked map (can't recall which one) where I was perched in a tower with a sniper rifle.

Oddly enough guys kept wandering into my field of view and bang 1 by 1 I was able to take them out. Last guy found my spot so I moved elsewhere.

Ended up I think 8-2 for the match (there was only 6 of us in the game).


Favorite kill though was on the map with the power station. I was over in the warehouses and stuck my head out only to be picked off by a sniper from the roof of a building near the power station. This guy was getting people left and right. I respawn and sneak my way over w/o any incident. I go up into the building find and opening and tossed a grenade up there and bam he is toast. The guy starts screaming and cursing up a storm about who the hell snuck up on him, he was pissed but claimed it was a good kill. I just laughed to myself and walked away proud of that one LOL.


Anyway I still don't have too many perks choices yet but they are better than the standard ones. Primarily running around with an M4 with grenade launcher, sleight of hand (which I love), steady aim, and stopping power, semtex grenades, and the 45 for secondary weapon.

Overall it is a fun experience. I think I prefer Team DM vs anything else followed by Domination. Free for all is ok but not as much fun IMHO.

EDIT - One other thing why the hell is that EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE seems to know where I am and kill me but I cannot find anyone myself. What I mean is I am running around looking to for folks and don't see anyone but these guys come right up and kill me (you knifers that are silent drive me nuts btw). Other times I may be hiding and reloading or looking around and the same thing happens - bang right up behind me and dead. Kinda frustrating.

Heartbeat sensors or, more likely, they have a UAV up. That's why I like to shoot down enemy UAVs whenever I get a chance.

Once again, forget kill : death ratios for now, just enjoy the game and learn the maps. The more you play the better you'll get. I have an XBL friend who started out with a 0.45 or so kill ratio...he's played a good bit and he's already close to 1.0. I have an IRL friend who I play with who started off at .7* and is now at almost 1.3. You're going to get better, you're going to find weapon combinations and such that work better for you, you'll learn the maps, you'll learn the gameplay mechanics, etc. Just keep at it!

The M4 is a great weapon. At lvl 9 you've also got the SCAR-H which I like alot. It shoots slower than the M4, has more recoil, and has a smaller magazine, but it does extra damage and carries it's max damage value for a longer distance (both very helpful), and has some of the best iron sights in the game. At a "close" range it's a 2 hit kill with stopping power compared to the M4's 3 hit kill, but once again the M4 fires a good bit faster. Both get the job done. I like it alot. The M4, SCAR-H, ACR, and MP5K are my favorite weapons.

For a side arm if you're having trouble doing damage with the pistol maybe try the SPAS-12 or AA-12 shotguns, the AA-12 is full auto and absolutely brutal up close.

As for bad guys knowing where you are more than UAV's or heartbeat sensors if you know the level you're going to know where people like to hide out and you seek those places. Trust me, just learning the maps will go a really long way towards helping you get better.

I believe a few people hate it, you'll have to search. I'm mixed, it's fine and all but I don't like the iron sights. The TAR-21 along with the F2000 just take up too much screen real estate.

I thought the iron sights were only OK, and once I equipped the red dot sight for the first time I LOLed and jumped off a cliff to change my class to something else.
 
TAR-21 I overall don't like. It recoils too much and isn't very accurate. That said it's my absolute favorite weapon for 3rd person (when everyone's accuracy sucks). For most types though I typically avoid it.

Kabob knows his stuff. I'd never played an online FPS before. When i started i was down at like 0.3 K/D ratio and just had fun unlocking things and trying different game types. I'm not up to 1.04 and when i play games like domination I actually play to win and always have drastically negative K/D....not playing to bump up stats. You'll get the hang of it.

He's also right about the enemies knowing where you are. Everytime you hear "UAV sighted" or "enemy UAV" up, that means they all know exactly where you are until you get cold blooded perk. You are also probably "hiding" in the most used and obvious spots. When you are at lower levels people will see you in all sorts of ways. The instinct is to be very defensive and/or camp a lot but it will hurt you in the end. Try to explore a lot and be aggressive with stopping power. You'll die a lot but you'll learn the maps quicker and you will also kill more which increases your level faster.

Its ok...it feels more like a submachine gun than an assault rifle in the game. Not very accurate but high rate of fire. I dont hate it but i dont love it. What bothers me even more than the recoil are the sights on it.
