CTF != Domination.

Capture the Flag is capturing a flag from the enemy's base and taking it back to yours. Domination is capturing static points (flags) on the map (like in Battlefield) and trying to hold them.

No, Domination is a different game type. Domination is about capturing and holding three different locations. There is an actual Capture The Flag type in MW2 (it wasn't there in CoD 4) where you run to capture the enemy's flag and bring it back to your home base.

And yeah, this isn't just a MW2 lingo thing, probably 25% of multiplayer shooters have a CTF type now (made popular by Unreal Tournament).

Agreed. I prefer Domination...or the "Sabotage" variant of CTF over old-school CTF. Sabotage centers the play a bit more than traditional CTF.

I played CTF for a bit when I first got mw2, but I died so much being the lone flag runner on my teams...I had to quit playing it.

I really like Domination, but since I tend to play with randoms only it can be frustrating having teammates who seem to care little about defending captured points and instead run around like headless chickens...
 
Well I might be interested if this was a consistent thing .. ie I knew in advance when the playing/practicing would be as my schedule is limited.

stag... you use extended mags? IMO that is the most worthless attachment. I thought it would give you extra clips but all it does is give you the same amount of ammo but a few extra bullets fit into a clip. If I didn't have scavenger I would blow.

oh no way really ? i thought you had extra magazines, lol i never really READ what it did
if you just get extra bullets in a clip, i'm going to go to silencer then
since that's useless

and yes i know the rof is higher on the acr, but my aim is pretty good where i am taking people down faster with the scar, i just seem to do better with it.
i still switch back and forth between those 2 and the m4, but my money gun is the scar

Yes. I think the points you get for capturing a point should be staggered. If you capture it by yourself...400 points. If you capture it with one other guy...200 points. If you capture it with more...just 100 for each. And you shouldn't get any points if you are not helping for more than 3 seconds. There needs to be more motivation to capture.

I haven't tried the ACR yet...but I always feel like I play the best with the SCAR... but I seem to get my best kill ratios in games with the M4... so it seems the SCAR is a perception thing. Likely has to do with me getting more long distance kills with the SCAR making me think the scar is better... but I think my short distance/last second kills are more plentiful with the M4 resulting is the higher kill ratios.

We can plan for a certain time at night, if you can make it awesome. If not, no biggie. We've got a big enough base here that we can consistently have 6 people for a game. Alternate between domination, CTF, sabotage etc..
 
What is everyone's KDR at now? I know this has already been asked, but 1) I don't want to find it and 2) It changes

KD ratio means nothing. Mine's 1.4 but I mess around so often with unique kits like Riot Shield/C4/Danger Close which can easily end up in a nasty 6 kill/15 death score. It can also get me a typical 45 kill / 5 death round if the killstreaks rip it up. 🙂

I can't get myself to like the ACR even though is has zero recoil. I just don't like it for whatever reason. M16 + red dot scope + stopping power = teh win.
 
I'm a 1.19 and steadily increasing although I feel like I've been playing like dogshit lately. I think my 32-2 match set the bar too high.
 
finally got my first quadruple kill last night. while playing domination, a group of enemies were trying to capture a flag. luckily i had them on site with my javelin and bamm! instant 4 kill ... was awesome
 
is the whole internet going to shit right now? i think i've completed 3 games in the span of 2 hrs and been lagged out of every other one.

same, i messed around so much just trying to unlock stuff.
sitrep cost me i dont know how many deaths lol just running around looking for claymores to shoot

I have really improved for the past few weeks. Even before the Christmas newbs. I very rarely finish negative now. If I am playing without friends in TDM, and have a crappy team...I could finish even or a bit positive while my team loses by 20-25 kills. That's my own test of skills there.
 
Sure hope they patch all of the exploits sooner than later. It's pretty much killed any fun I was having.
