15 feet of center square off tonight in Mavs - Rockets game in Dallas tonight. China's prize player, 7' 6" Yao Ming, faces the most enigmatic player in the league, also 7' 6" Shawn Bradley. With high expectations and being new to American culture and language, Yao faces more than just a tough opponent. The Mavericks, OTOH, are the best team in the NBA and have an 11-game winning streak to start the season. The big three of Nowitzki, Nash, and Finley power the Mavs, but it's been the suprise play of Bradley in the middle that has escalated the Mavs to an elite team. Who will win tonight's matchup? The Mavs allow 15 points a game less than last year. Their defense is actually quite improved, though not the best in the league they are Number 2.

Your right, their defense has improved greatly from last year.. Its just hard to play defense when your scoring so many points and running the ball so much. I don't think it will be an issue come playoff time..
Playoffs will be different only if because Shaq will be back for the Lakers, and the Kings should be full strength. Whoever survives that triumverate should take the title quite easily from the East.

Yao might have a good night tonight, but I still think the Mavs are gonna extend the streak.
As for where Bradley suddenly got his game, once the Mavs discovered that he didn't know how to play basketball it was simply a matter of teaching him and lots of practice.

Raef Lafrentz is out so bradley is doing good fantasy wise. when lafrentz comes back, bradley's stats will go down but the mavericks will be a better team in real life.
arenas is doing very good, obviously those number will not stay, he is playing a ton of minutes and will have to get tired as the season progresses. sura is going to come back from injury too, but arenas definitely has a lock on the starting PG job.
go warriors! i always root for the bay area teams...hehe veen though they don't win much, they're a fun team to watch.
