**OFFICIAL MARIO KART DS FRIEND CODE THREAD***

Can you play MKart without someone else's friends code? If so I would snap it up in half a second.

Yes, I believe you can. It will find players either locally or worldwide.

Yep, the one time I played it online I didn't have anyone's code, and it matched me with random people.

You are correct, you can search regionally or worldwide for others to play against, it just picks the randomly and automatically for you.

Start looking in recycle bins and trash bins for empty bottles and cans. At 5 cents each, you only need... 600 cans or bottles.

Just got the error again, gonna double check my code and make sure I got yours in correctly.

Well got your info entered correctly and that's my friend code without a doubt.

What gives?

Oh wait... you need an open wireless connection to connect to someone, don't you?

Oh well I think my neighbor has an unsecured connection...

Yes, any opened WiFi signal will do.

Keep in mind though that wireless range is less on the DS Lite than say a laptop, they say it's about 30 feet.

Mine will be out of range in my bed room which is about 30 or so feet from where my wireless router is.

i had huge issues w/ a friend of mine trying to connect.. we'd see each other, but it wouldn't get into the game...

I had a problem where my friend could find me, but I couldn't see him. Seems like Nintendo still have alot of work to do.

Total n00bler question: So, I have a DSL, I have a wireless network at home, what else do I need?

DS Lite with wifi enabled game.

That's it really.

If you're running any sort of security on your home wireless router then the DS Lite is only compatible with WEP and only with the default # 1 key or just no security enabled at all.

Here is Nintendo's site for wifi info.

I believe DS supports WEP encryption up to 128-bit.

Damn, wish I bought mario kart instead of just renting it. Oh well, I'll play xbox live or something instead.

My wireless router has a WEP password and after inputting that password in the Nintendo Wi-fi options menu, I can connect without any problems.
