I'd favor LSU about 60% to 40%, defense is key and USC still hasn't played anybody.(Michigan was very inconsistent this year and USC got them on not one of their good days, so it wasn't much of a test, really.)

Lot's of LSU loving in this thread...not that I disagree. Especially since that all of Oklahoma's points came off from LSU offensive and special teams f-ups

altho i do agree that LSU's D is awsome, ferocious, i dont see them sacking Leinart as much as they did White, USC's offense is diff from Michigan's and OU's in the
sense than its not so much long passes like white or navare prefer, so the D has much less time to get to the QB
but i was very impressed with LSU's pass rush, it wud be a good matchup i think

anyway USC is gonna be very strong next yera too, hopefully their out of conference opponents wont have a bad season , this year they tried to play good
teams out of conference but it didnt pan out, their opponents sucked, Auburn, ND, Hawaii (well they did ok i guess)

edit: and also Norm Chow is a brillian offensive co-ordiator, Norm Chow's offense v/s Nick Saban's defense wud be a treat to watch

GO SC!!!!

No, because he would be late to the game because he would be hugging trees and lose all track of time, then his eco-friendly car only goes 25 mph as well. Plus, the PETA protestors in front of the stadium upset about the use of cowhide in the use of footballs will hinder him...Dayum, he will be lucky if he makes the second half.

That's a good point which is why I think it would be closer than a lot of the LSU fans would think (although just for the record, I think LSU is better overall.) But one of the closest examples in the SEC that would be similar to USC's offense style would be Ole Miss, which gave LSU fits and had them on the ropes for awhile. Ole Miss uses a lot of fairly quick strike 10-15 yard pass patterns and it helped negate some of the overwhelming potency of LSU's otherwise amazing defense. Granted, that was with probably the best pure passer in college football at the helm, but Leinart's obviously a great QB too.

LSU's defense was one of the most impressive I've seen in awhile. There's always a few good defenses every year, but this one really stood out to me. I think it was mostly due to the d-backs. Quite a few teams will have strong linebacker or d-line units, but rarely do you see d-backs that are taller, faster and stronger than the receivers they are covering. It's a testament to how far LSU has come since just a few years ago their d-backs were some of the worst in the country.

8-5 sucks? All of Auburn's losses were to Bowl Game winners, with Two of their losses coming to the national champs(USC and LSU). Auburn didn't have a good season, but they didn't suck.

They should set this game up, pay per view style...

How much would you pay to watch USC play LSU? I think I'd pay up to $60 for it...

Has anyone noticed the people screaming for LSU are not even LSU fans, whereas only USC fans think USC should be number 1?
