Official Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3

Now if only the PS3 would keep a constant HDMI output signal going when "off" so that the TV wouldn't skip over that input when off and use it when on...

Sounds like your TV is the problem here. It should give you the option of selecting any input, even one not "on".

Or you could get a receiver, or a universal remote that lets you choose the input directly (possible on most TVs).

The TV skips over inputs that aren't connected. It is a scrolling system in terms of getting to the correct input. So, for instance, in my case it goes Tuner, Component, HDMI1, HDMI2. When the PS3 is off the first HDMI is skipped over because the PS3 does not output a standby signal. The second HDMI input is a Toshiba HD-A3 which does so it doesn't contribute to this problem.

This is only a problem because of the activity function on the Harmony remotes. They work based on knowledge of what input they were last on. So when the number of inputs connected changes, things don't work right.

I agree I could get a receiver with HDMI and that would work. That's just not a priority right now. I may also be able to convince the Logitech remote to work in a alternate fashion. I know I tested it before and I can access inputs individually with the Harmony...the problem is there is no universal button that gets me back to the tuner. Perhaps I can come up with a method utilizing these buttons but its not simple.

What brand TV? Westinghouse tv's have terrible problems with harmony's. Theres no way to turn that feature off?

Samsung Plasma

and No, not that I know of. I wouldn't want to turn it off, but rather I would want to tell the TV which inputs I had connected.

you guys spend several hundred on a remote, thousands on TVs, hundreds or thousands more on audio and other accessories, but won't spend $59 for this?

My guess is that the guys whining about the price aren't the sort who spent hundreds or thousands on their audio.

Not all of us do. $59 just feels high for the device, $39 would be a better price IMO.

Not me, I waited to get my Harmony 880 until it was on sale and I had a coupon, so I only paid $47 for it... likewise only purchased any other HT items when I got a hot deal 😉

i bought one of these, got it yesterday. works pretty well. i agree the price is expensive for what it is though, except i didn't want to wait...
