Kinda glitchy after the last update... Once we were in campaign then two of us got kicked into vs. mode without any players on the other team, when I moved, I moved under the map...

Couple people said they were searching for campaign but got vs instead...

Still very fun. I'm just playing on normal and advanced for now.

Anyone else getting crazy stuttering with the new nvidia drivers?

Nope none at all and I am using the latest WHQL nvidia drivers.

I'm getting horrible studdering. I though it was just me.

Ok. Well the solution is to either disable multi-core processing under video->advanced or roll back to driver version 178.24. I rolled back so I could keep multi-core processing.

Vs. mode epitomizes it as you have humans controlling the boss AI and thus you have human players actively and intelligently hunting you down. Their attacks can be pretty feeble, however they respawn as there are supposed to be a relatively unlimited amount of infected...thus the absolute best way to survive is to move from safe room to safe room as fast as possible - the game no longer is just a shooter where all you do is fight, its also a race.

Thats debateable 😛 Saw a tank yesterday, he attacked us then 10 seconds later somehow fell down the hospitals elevator shaft.

then it must be some dumb ass player. Near the roof in the hospital playing versus today, we took too long and of course someone got the tank. He bitch slapped two of us with full health right off the building.

I lied, its all lies! It was me that fell down the elevator shaft. I didnt realize tanks could use ladders that people used, it didnt look like it would fit!! 🙁 Oh well that was back in my noob days, all of 1 week ago.

I have beaten all but blood harvest on expert mode. Seriously guys its the best way to play. Normal is for VS. Campaign is meant for expert, it is badass.

Tanks fit through ANYTHING... I jumped through those teeny windows of the final building in no mercy.

Ahahah yea I remember playing through the No Mercy campain and the tank was fitting through all the little spaces in the sewers. I was like WTF.

That's actually about the only thing I'd change about the game - make the tank fit into less areas. His ranged attack is plenty dangerous because it's harder to dodge in confined spaces, even if he can't smack you in the head.

Imagine a hurled slab of concrete coming down one of those tiny tunnels at you.

Could have been me, 2 days ago, I did just that 🙂

Was so close to push the third guy too

if the Tank wasn't able to reach you anywhere you can go, it would allow players to hole up in certain locations almost indefinitely.

While I agree it can be annoying, the Tank wouldn't be anywhere near as intimidating or menacing if it couldn't force you to fight in close quarters. Getting a Tank in that last hallway on the last level of No Mercy before the rooftop is one of the most intense and scary fights you can have in the game. You basically need to get a molotov on him ASAP, and then have everyone unload on him as you retreat back towards the safe room (which isn't safe against a tank, as it can bust open the door in saferooms you start in)

If you're tricky enough, you can get the tank to commit to one player and basically sacrifice him while everyone else slips around him and heads on out to the roof.

I wonder how far of a drop the hospital's elevator shaft is. Looks pretty far down.

Its 30 floors. You can fall down it on the second last level. In fact you may have to climb up it as infected if the survivors get into the lift and didnt kill you so you get left on the ground floor.

I know the second part. It doesn't seem as high as on top of the construction level. I wish you could jump off of that.

I just got done having a L4D lan.. that was a trip. We are all suffering from PTSD, nothing like sitting in a dark room screaming every time you get blind sided by a witch or tank.

You can respawn closer to the survivors if you get too far away
