Gigabyte, Galaxy, and Zotac just went up, no eVGA though.

Just read through AT's and [H]'s reviews, excellent write-ups from both. There's nothing really ground breaking here, but I can't wait to see overclocking numbers.

There's OC numbers on HardwareCannucks.

No more normal OC, now you just set the TDP for max and the GPU automatically clocks to fit into a predetermined TDP/thermal level. From the numbers, it adds around 147mhz extra. Similar to the chinese review, 1.26ghz core turbo at max.

not sure if this had been posted already or not, but techreport's review is up.

i really like TR's way of objectively measure game fluidity, and judging from that, the GTX 680, while being faster than a HD 7970, is just as fluid.

so yeah, looks like it's unlikely for me to switch.

judging from those results OC7970 is at least as fast if not faster than OC680. Wonder why they didn't directly compare oc numbers, probably this wasn't in nvidia reviewiers guide. Also it's not any better in tandem

Gonna have to turn my employment badge in Idontcare, you can stop sending me paychecks now :\

LOL

AMD sent me monthly stipend so I got two. Plan to bitch and explain how terrible the GTX 680 is in SLI once I receive them.

PS. Gotta love the sales tax we pay in Canada, eh ?

This is the first nV card i feel really good about since 8800's. Was getting tired of thier power sucking over hot huge chips. $499 money well spent despite y'all saying "mid range card" Feels highest end to me.

Hmm. Those overclocked results aren't what I was hoping for in witcher 2 and metro 2033. I figured the 680 would be better than 7970 in witcher 2.... Weird.... Still, I will do my own thing since reviewers rarely go all out when overclocking.

It's automatic, you just raise the TDP limit and the card will boost to meet it. If its already there, it's not going to boost as high. [H] mentioned that certain games load the gtx680 much more than others.

Still, for most things, getting an extra 10% performance is fine for doing nothing.

If you ignore the 580 and 7970 and look at what this card really replaces, the 560ti, it becomes apparent that Nvidia has really done something right this generation, that's almost a 100% increase in performance in just a years time.

I wonder what kind of increase we'll see over GF110 when GK110 releases, I don't think it will be as much as this is, but it's still probably going to be an amazing card for Nvidia.

Nvidia has produce a mid range replacement which can compete with last gens dual gpu cards, it's quite impressive. The only real problem is the current state of the market, the bar wasn't raised enough by the other side and price/performance now reflects a market where one companies high end card is being eclipsed by the others mid range card. This is the problem with duo monopolies, there isn't enough competition to truly keep the consumers on the winning side of price/performance.

~100% faster then the 560Ti using a smaller die.

$500

nV engineering smashes one *way* out of the park.

nV marketing people, meh, suppose they are doing their job well, but this should be a 660.

Just be prepared that you replace faster cards with slower ones. Even without OC SLI numbers aren't any better than CF.

The horsepower doesn't really matter if the drivers aren't up to snuff to use it. If I didn't despise any form of multi-GPU, I'd be more confident picking up a pair of GTX 680's than a pair of 7970's. Still though, not much to confirm that without some data.
