I think its going to be a tossup between Kanaan and Hornish Jr., and if Danica keeps herself out of trouble she might have a legimate shot at the end of this race.

My dark horse is Dan Wheldon from the 16th starting spot.

Who does ATOT think will win it?

what exactly does this sport involve?

from what IRC they drive reall fast round and round in circles, crashing spectacularly into each other/the outside of the circuit util only one person is left/they complete a certain number of laps...?

play a racing game with pit stops and you'll find out.

Driving in it would be killer, but watching it?......

You really have to get yourself in the field with the driver. Are you watching the on-board cams ? That's crazy...

If you are just watching a bunch of cars go around in a circle, you just don't want to understand everything that goes behind it. No appreciation for the skill/strategy involved.

I'm not even a big fan... but I can appreciate the difficulty. Hell, just watch the in-car cams...

Danica has made history, first woman to lead a lap at Indy.

She led Lap 56.

All that training and she forgets how to keep the engine running on a pit stop <shakes head>

pretty unfortunate... she's managed to climb 3 spots after 35-40 laps after that incident... currently 13th.

n00b question... are these things RWD or AWD ? I'm pretty sure it's the latter... pretty difficult to be making turns at 200mph on RWD only..

RWD only.

The shear width of the tires and downforce of the front wings keep them on the asphalt.

Basically dragsters with Fat tires all around and wings.

She's running at 12th now. Almost bit it on the pass though. Guy didn't give her any room as she went by.

I don't there there's many "hillbillys" in indy car racing. A good percentage of them are foreign anyway. She's closer to a "hillbilly" than most of them, being from Illinois.
