hmmm sgs2 it seems more like, is the better choice...

I originally wanted the Nexus but I don't regret picking up my Galaxy S2 at all. The phone is far more polished than any other Gingerbread device and as soon as we get ICS it will easily outperform the Nexus thanks to Exynos.

I wouldn't buy a gimped Nexus phone. A developer phone like a Google Nexus should stay pure and have all the google related technology including NFC. Verizon is fucking this up sensationally.

It still has NFC. Both Google Wallet and ISIS would make use of NFC, so it isn't being removed. It's all about the app.

it does have nfc for android beam.

you can't use nfc on a tmobile nexus S either. and even if you buy the gsm unlocked nexus galaxy online it still won't show up on the market on tmo/att.

i mean i have accepted that basically all the carriers are terrible in some way or the other (sprint seems the least terrible right now, but their data network sucks, and they still had carrier iq).

so i guess if you accept what it is, you just buy the phone on your network (since phones are gimped on every network). i guess for me im on verizon? why because they have the best network of all the evil carriers.

In the US of A?? Did they confirm it'll be available tomorrow?? Baaahhh!!!!!

Sent on my Not-Galaxy-Nexus using Tapatalk

They said they won't know until tomorrow. They had all the dummies and promo tools. I picked up a razr because I had to port my Tmobile number before my line closed. Imma call tomorrow and have them hold one and do an exchange.

They can just set the phone on the counter and it'll magically turn into cash when they turn their backs.

better yet, leave an ice cream sandwich :D

i'm curious how much you could offer before they'd cave. say you called the manager out and put down 5k...think they'd still refuse?

They keep all their phones in lock up. I had to walk to the register, pay, and then walk back to the cell phone department and wait for the manager to bring up the razr.

Hopefully I can exchange it tomorrow. On a side now, Verizon 4G LTE is the win. 20mbs down.

All the costco inventory screens I've seen have said not to sell until the 14th, so if you do happen to get one on the 9th you just got lucky. Some of the 3rd party retailers have been a bit slower to retell the message, but the phone has just about 99% been delayed until sometime next week.

Heard somewhere it might be software related with that 4.1 update, but who knows. We likely won't ever really know the reason for the delays.

The rep told me from all he knows he's supposed to sell them tomorrow but he only heard the delay from a customer. Best bet is for me to call in when they open tomorrow.

On a side note, I was able to get unlimited data on my new line ;D

if there really is a delay, your only chance is probably to get there the minute they open and try to buy one before they realize it was delayed. that's probably still a longshot

Every Verizon store I've called in the area knows what the Nexus is (and some admitted to having received them), but they all say the same thing: Not today.

Man, my OG droid for the first time signaled me low on internal memory and texts couldn't come through, lol. App2SD can only last for so long. And that's because I haven't been downloading free apps of the day from amazon for sometime now.

Come on already with this Nexus!

I been playing around with my international version for the last couple of days now and here are my thoughts, note though, i am noob with android and smartphones

Battery isnt that great, play with it for about 4 hrs total thur out the day and had to recharge by night

GPS locating sucks, hardly works indoors, and works most of the time outdoors

recorded video at 1080p, but quality wasnt that great and at only 15fps

speaker not as loud as i thought it would be even at max

wifi speed only 500KB/sec to my server, choppy video streaming

needs better media player for mkv file, tried diceplayer but still choppy even at 720p mkv

the screen is beautiful

tethering and wifi hotspot worked great

I am on the tmobile $30 plan, get ~5mb/1mb on good area, while only get ~2mb/500kb on crowded areas like DT los angeles

I paired the phone to my car via bluetooth, but it only syncs audio. it doesnt send my phonebook to the car so that I can use car command to call "bob"

Here is the offical users guide from google, but its very limited and basic
http://static.googleusercontent.com...lp/hc/pdfs/mobile/AndroidUsersGuide-40-en.pdf

Like i meantion, I am new to android, so a lot my issues could be my fault for lack of knowledge. for example, how the hell do you close a app? right now I have to hit the home key, then bring up the app list to swipe them out........ any one know of a good, more in depth guides for android? I am having a hard time finding a weather widget that uses gps location to automatic change locations too

You don't need to close an app in Android. Once you exit an app it's suspended and no longer technically running. The operating system takes care of the rest.
