Tonight I was able to OC to 4ghz and run PRIME95 for an hour solid. Temperate was at 80°C. I read somewhere that Intel say anywhere between 68-78°C was a safe range. Does anyone know what the official temperature range is so I do not "degrade" the chip's expected life. I like to get 5+ good years with my chip overclocked.

4ghz @ 1.35 vcore at 80°
3.8 @ 1.24 vcore at 65°

I think I can lower the voltage down further at 3.8ghz but running prime95 overnight to see if its stable. 65° seems like a fair temperature to be at full load. It idles somewhere around 42°C. Using a Noctua with the Ultra Kaze insane fan.

woah @ the 80 degree celcius! Watch out, you could burn your chip sooner or later. I would try sticking to the 3.8 that you had.

Reading "guides" all over the net, most people don't seem to have a problem running between 70-80°C under a full load. Then as I look more into it, there's a group of people saying this is a bit too hot and will shorten life expectancy of the chip which got me worry.

Well I bumped vcore down more to 3.8ghz @ 1.2235 and its running right now 63°C. I hope it can run stable at this setting. This should be a safe temperature.
