I liked it! The acting wasn't the greatest, and the nude shower scene was pointless, but the action was good. I haven't read the books so I can be happy not knowing what I was missing.

Discuss.

I'd have to say that it was. The director does a fairly good job of representing the ideas in Azmov's books, regarding the inherent conflict if you ask a robot to obey the "three laws" in the midst of a society as complex as ours ... as any human society, for that matter.

The shower scene was pointless ... actually both of them were.

Just saw the movie today. Ok movie and yes, both of the shower scences (Will Smith and the female lead, NOT together..LOL) were not need. I sure do like the robots' facial expressions. ..Wink..Wink..LOL.

EDIT: I just a bit disappointed at the end when Vicki was so easy to defeat. It should has more protection/security. It would be could if Vicki is as evil as the computer in Resident Evil.

^bump for you

Hope to see the movie this week end. Looked like total crap from the previews. Another over the top action movie with no story. But you guys seem to crush that misconception.

Well don't go expecting the same depth of story as the books. It's a summer blockbuster after all. I'm just saying, it was worth seeing, and the story was passable.

i liked it becuase the action wasnt too over-the-top. im so bored of watching any sort of fight/battle scenes.
i didnt think the plot was particuarly stunning but it fit in pretty well with asimov's general concepts while using the sort of charming tone that other authors of the genre (who have similarly explored the idea of artificial intelligence) have employed. im thinking mainly of dick, wolf and heinlein.
this is very audience-friendly science fiction. certainly a summer blockbuster above all else.
