The mid-90's Prelude was so great looking, and then they replaced it with that giant headlight model and it became the ugliest car on the road.

Yet Honda studies show the VW packs more emotional punch with the choice younger set... So like Toyota, which insisted its 2002 Camry had been transformed from plain-Jane to Sophia Loren, Honda says the all-new 2003 Accord is more sensual, less conservative.
new accord and camry sure deliver an emotional punch. a right from lennox lewis to the gut. the reason toyota lost the sales crown is the camry is FUGLY! now the accord looks like it.... at least the accord with have a stronger engine.

hmm... VW makes passat and jetta not fugly, instantly goes from after-thought to top of the list. toyota and honda make camry and accord fugly, sales decline.

and for all you that think the japanese don't need rebates and APR specials, toyota is doing both.

it does look a lot like the avalon. Actually, i thought the last body style of the accord was the best looking IMO. And the new prelude's are awesome (that is, unless they've changed that body style too!). The new civics aren't too shotty either. If i was in the market for a 4 or 6 cylinder car, honda may get my money.

The front-end kind of reminds me of the now-retired Mercury Cougar. While I've thought that some of the Honda Accord designs in the past were a little off-beat, the design would grow on me after time. No matter had bad Honda makes the car look, there will always be a following of purchasers for their vehicles.

I still waiting to see it in person. The car itself sounds impressive. 5 speed autos. 160 HP I-VTEC fours that get 33 MPG. 240 HP V-6. 6 speed manual coming soon. Dual zone (I assume automatic) climate control. Sounds good to me.

i see Focus front fascia + Camry/Avalon body + from what i can image an Altima rear = Mix Well, Consume and VOMIT! :disgust:

why can't jap automakers make something truly different and bold? every jap car looks like the same old rehash. at least american automakers try to offer something different, but they always fail.

Honda stylists say they used a cheetah as a design influence
Really? Looks more like they used a Civic.

You don't get too many chances to redesign an Accord, so you have to swing for the fences
...he then goes on to say why Honda chose not to 'swing for the fences' with this design :D

is it possible that toyota and honda share their styling departments? Many generations of the Camry and Accord look a little "too much" alike, include the new genereation

I think if they (photo) chopped the roofline and got rid of that funky headlight. It might not be half bad.

Yeah, yeah, I know. wavy window pillars. so kill me. it took three minutes to do.:)

the current gen. accord is pretty nice, and i really liked the previous generation accord.

this one... well i dont know, its hard to tell by looking at that picture, but it just looks very watered down and way too... well i dont know what the word is. Other than as if it didnt already, it looks like every other car out there.

i'm sure its still a nice car... and if the new v6 starts coming in a manual, it may even be cool... but i definetly like the exterior design a lot less.

Ack! WTH are they smoking? The Accord has gotten uglier with each of its last two redesigns, and this car just looks awful. They are certainly making life easier for Toyota, Nissan, and VW.
