Am I to guess that you got one for free to review for that podcast that you never seem to do anymore? ;) If so, how much do you want for it once you're tired of it? I have an extra Metal Gear Online beta key with your name written all over it.... :D

Well, the wife gave me permission today to pick up a Dualshock3 controller, so mark that as another thing I said I wasn't going to buy and did. I immediately love the heft to it, MUCH better than the cheap plastic feel of the regular sixaxis. I figured that there have only ever been two games where I actually liked the dualshock type of rumble, and that was Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid, so now was a good time to get one :).

Nah, I've always thought rumble was an overhyped feature, and I'd be willing to bet than 95% of the people out there wouldn't even notice if it was suddenly taken away. However, Gran Turismo and the Metal Gear Solid series are the only two games that I can think of off the top of my head where the Immersion patented dual-drum rumble actually added to the gameplay tremendously. Anything else I've ever played with rumble is just your controller shaking violently, not intelligently with varying degrees of vibration and different types of vibration (only possible with the awesome design of the Immersion dual-drums).

As promised, here's an excel spreadsheet with the cars in the game, how much they cost, etc...

I shamelessly copied all this info from the lone FAQ over at gamefaqs.com, so sorry if something isn't correct. I just wanted to convert what they guy did into a spreadsheet so it'd be much easier to read.

This file is in an Excel 1997-2003 format:

I think it's amazing, I love it. Sure, there's a few things I could complain about, but overall, it's a great package, well worth $40 IMO. I did play some online last night, and although I was put into the wall a few times that cost me a high finish, it was still fun after I was done, and you still earn money to use in single-player :).

Holy crap! the RX8 is such great car to get initial, especially for the price. Then, once I got 40k I got the RX7 and...oh man..it's almost like cheating. Driving this thing makes me miss my car. :(

My dad had a '93 RX-7. He traded it in for a Camry for my mom. :|

I have over 250k in credits right now, and I've not even gotten into the meat of the B class :). I'm having difficulty deciding what car to buy to get through B. Any suggestions? The only things I have right now are the Integra, Cappucino, and the C class winner. I'm thinking of splurging on a high-end car, then getting something around 40k to make it through B class. By the time I'm ready for the A class, I'm sure I'll have the credits built up again to buy the required Ferrari and etc. Maybe I should just go ahead and buy that Ferrari.... :D

I love this game.

I used the new gtr for B, it whooped on everything, i was kinda actually disappointed at how mismatched my car was to the AI's cars. but its only 77k or something.

I just went over to Costco for rice. What a riot. Pellet of 20 comes out, gone in 30 sec!!! Anyway, they have GT5:prologue there for $35. Costco.com has a $499 bundle of PS3, GT5P, DS3, and remote. I want it!

I got the RX-8 as my first car, used it to pass every challenge I could use it for in C and B class. Then I got the Nissan GTR... holy God, that thing can throw down some serious speed. I'm doing the A class races now, have to start saving up (I want a Vette and a Ferrari F430, though I know I'm going to end up getting every Ferrari).

The game is fun. It's really, really easy in most places; however, some of the lap challenges are very hard (a few I've only managed bronze on).
