I just got news that Walmart has shipped my GOW2 and it is on the big brown truck. It might be here tomorrow, its only 1 state away.
 
Yeah, so I've no intention of going to the midnight launch, but if I just so happened to be awake I might run up there...we'll see. Even if I did though I don't think I'd play it tonight. Course, I might have an oddly forming cough in morning 😛

Any of you AAT guys wanna join in and game? I figure we could keep a list of those who were looking for people to go through campaign/horde/vs modes with.

Sorry to double post but does anyone know exactly what all the linked achievements are? I've heard about Raam and Carmine, but that's all I've heard (or are those the only two?).

*edit* yes, the 7-11 rumor is true. Guy on the Forzacentral forums got it 2 days ago.

There are only three that are currently known.

Which Gears achievements will unlock what content in Gears 2? Not all are known quite yet, but thus far we are aware that:

* Unlocking the "Completed Act 1" achievement in GoW unlocks Anthony Carmine in GoW2 multiplayer.
* Unlocking the "A Dish Best Served Cold" achievement in GoW unlocks General RAAM in GoW2 multiplayer.
* Unlocking the "Time to Remember" achievement in GoW unlocks Minh Young Kim in GoW2 multiplayer.

yea its just those three. the whole unlockables thing in gears2 is done very well. it's like a journal. and with achievements, it has a progress tracker too.
 
Mine came about two hours again. I have been playing it a little. Pretty nice. They have added several new features to interact with the environment. It came from Wal Mart, and had a big sticker on top, do not sell before 11-07 lol.

Did it come with the code to download the map pack for free or is that automatically available??
 
yes it is, i also had my gold lancer online, looks sweet. just go to redeem code, and put it in and it will download it.
 
Nope, just the limited edition. That is sick. I might get that. So far in multi player, I have only heard one English speaking person. Hopefully that will change tonight or tomorrow. My gamer tag is James1701D if you want to see that I have played it. I noticed, when I log onto xbox360.com, it will not show achievements yet. It maybe due to the early release, but it does show I played the game.
 
It is an early release thing. It doesn't show achievements for anyone who's played the game yet. No need to prove it to us, you're not the first to get it early (stupid 7-Elevens!).

I received mine in the mail today from Amazon. I didn't pay extra to have it guaranteed by whatever day. It just came.

Where do you get info on the $10 GC? I may have pre-ordered too late to receive the GC, but I don't know where to look.
 
Have 2 copies pre-ordered, will be showing up at Gamestop tonight at midnight, but won't be playing tonight, sleep > video games at time.
 
I haven't read any reviews so forgive me if they answer it. Any word on how long this one is? Same as first Gears, shorter, or longer? Thank you.
 
Well, looks like I won't be getting GoW2. I promised my son I would buy him a game if he brought home good grades from school. I didn't realize his grades came out this week and the little booger brought home near perfect grades.

I'm going to have to rent it tomorrow to start off with.

took me probably 4-5 more hours to finish part 2 than part 1. i was playing co-op on hardcore. quite a few parts i had to repeatedly try because i was dying. it's definitely longer.

If it were not for the language, I would say get him that game. How old is he? My six year old wants me to get him ST:TFU. At least playing the demo since it has been released, has really spurred his creativity while playing. I have been letting him see Bioshock, Crysis, and Far Cry 2, and Dead Space, but this is one he is going to have to sit out on.
