First, the obligitary link block. If anyone asks how to do anything these programs do, I will make you eat a razor blade.

UXTheme lets you use new skins in Windows XP.
Coolmon puts system info on Windows desktops.
GKrellM puts a system monitor bar on UNIX desktops.
Transparent is a program that can remove the solid color backgrounds from desktop icon labels on Win95/98/ME/NT/2K, allowing your wallpaper to show through.
Rainlender puts a calender on Windows desktops.
Desktop Weather puts weather info on Windows desktops.
The AT pic hosting service, if you don't have a good place to opst your pics. No more geocities links, ever.

Next, instructions for you lusers that don't know how to take a screenshot:

Windows: Hit printscreen, then paste in paint, photoshop, etc. Then save as JPG or another browser-friendly format.
UNIX: Use The GIMP or ksnapshot, which I think is included in the kdegraphics package.

Now, the good stuff: pics.

Living Room Workstation:
Desktop JPG PNG
Pic coming soon

Bedroom Workstation:
Desktop JPG PNG
Pic Small JPG Big JPG

If you are trying to make me eat a razor blade:

Electrode slits Beau6183's throat with a razor blade

If you are seriously asking, I use wmitime for the clock, asmem for the memory info, wmix for the volume control, wmusic for the XMMS control, wmcalc for the calculator, and licq in dock mode. All of these are dockapps, running in the Fluxbox window manager's slit.

To the rest of you, read the first post, it contains ALL the info you could possibly need. This info can also be found there. :)

Electrode - That's awesome wallpaper you have for your second box! I just got done playing Killer Instinct 2 this evening on my machine. I downloaded the arcade ROM the other day for it and it takes up around 400 megs! It is of course a *legal* copy ::grin:: It was such a sweet game when it came out.

On the topic of this thread, I won't post a pic of my desktop cause it always looks like crap compared to everyone elses. Still runnin the same ol Win98SE because my freakin box won't take WinXP...not that it really matters I just like the eye candy. If I ever got off my lazy duff I'd learn linux and put that on my machine...

SillyClown: Just post it. Lots of people post pretty much stock windows desktops, with no customization whatsoever, and it still gets plenty of hits.

Also, welcome to ATOT. Please check your life at the door. :D

I just sit at work in my cubicle and take calls and read what's new on these boards. Some of you guys are hilarious! I may have to subscribe here soon because the speed (even over my cable connection) isn't so good. Anyway enjoy the awesome and almight power of the desktop jpeg!
