Topic summary says it all, vent your frustrations or post happy thoughts here.

I'll start:

I needed a 93-96 overall course average to get an A in my Music class, I had pure clutch on the final...

My final course average is:
93.03! A! I'm so happy... time to go celebrate by taking another final ;)

A- counts as a 3.7 for GPA purposes here at Duke :frown:

It's really a history of jazz course. Despite what you might think, it was $@*$ hard, especially for someone like me who has little background in music. My professor has been a Grammy nominee, so he throws musical terms around left and right without realizing he goes over our heads sometimes...

GPA inflation? More like DE-flation. The percentage of A's earned at Duke is <20%. Compare that with the 35%+ at Princeton... in a sense it's pretty harsh here since most things are done according to normalized grade distributions... the infamous bell curve :)

Fsckin hell. The last two weeks of classes I've had over 100 pages of papers to write, and I've got one final that covers reading from 9 books totaling ~4500 pages. Anyways everything was going well I was writing 10 pages a day and staying on schedule, then I get this ridiculous 'cold' which drains all energy from me. I can't stay up for more than 2 hours at a time, and I've had a fever for 6 days. The doctor still maintains that it's a cold and prescribed me some craptastic supercharged dayquil in a pill the size of a horse tranq. Tough to get sh!t done if I can't stay awake :(

How is counting a 92.9 as an A- grade inflation?

Logic FTW ;)

 And I thought my 30+ pages of writing due last week were bad... my seminar last semester had 6 books totaling ~ 3000 pages, that was bad enough...

Heh senior level 18th century lit is no fun. One of the 9 books that we had to read was Richardson's Clarissa
1500 pages of awesomeness! The writing wasn't too bad for that course actually, probably wrote a total of 75 pages this semester + the final on Thursday. All of the writing I had to do was for PHI4990: Advanced topics in Metaphysical Theory. 10 page paper due every week on independent research covering the topic of the reading and a 25 page research paper on a topic of our choice (for some reason I thought tackling the problem of free will would be a good idea. I probably wrote that paper 5 times before I got something I was comfortable handing in) I'm gonna go defenestrate now.
