He's moving the standards of the game up-if the GOP want to have any meaningful input in the governmental process (or just as significantly, any support from the American electorate) they are going to go beyond obstructionism and repeating party doctrine as if it is gospel.

yeah.... 100% agree. Tho, I think the reporters had a lot of balls to bring up the middle east. If I were president I would have kept the questions to the topic at hand and would have passed on all of the ME BS questions.

Just me I guess.

Its a lot of fun to make stuff up isnt it.

Lemme guess. Sniper. Special Forces. All that jazz.

Well, almost right, Captain, SAS.

Validated by more than one member on this forum.

I would have never in a million years guessed that one. Its actually so confusing to me I dont even know where to start Mr. Tough Guy.

Yeah, with the search function broken and me being in a place where i can't even use google that is going to be hard to find.

But both you and i know about you screaming for a revolution several times so i don't get why you are lying about it.

But ok, if you so wish, i'll concede and accept that you never uttered a word about any revolution in your posts that i can show.

Doesn't really matter you are still a stupid fucking twat and we both know why you are.

Hey I think Mr. Sniper Special Forces Tough Guy has a sensitive side!! Ok, if you say so.

I expect nothing but ridicule of our efforts in Afghanistan/Pakistan from the likes of you. And i really don't care.

Cheerio revolutionary twat.

A better gamble for the Republicans is to vote against it then hope for the stimulus to fail and rebound in 2010.
A better option would be for both sides to work together and craft a much smaller bill that is very direct and starts the spending as soon as possible.

Bush's deficit spending for his WHOLE first term amounted to $946 billion. Obama is going to pass that amount with ONE bill.

Making shit up again Mr. Badass? Please point out anywhere, on any forum, I have done what you said. Shit I can even give you a list of some other forums I frequent. I use the same user name everywhere.

Or you can keep on making shit up. Its actually amusing to me.

Well, i don't think it will go that far, in fact i think the paranoia you are portraying isn't really what you think will happen.

So are we going to discuss a fairy tale scenario that you don't believe in or the real world?

Besides, i'm a Brit so you might be able to fill me in on some of the real world politics on this instead of just acting like you are daft. (i know you are not)

Doesn't have a good enough feel good ring to it we'll need after everything is nationalized.

No reason for the Democrats to offer up a hand to the Republicans in this - They have uber majority.

You heard the President tonight blaming the Bush admin for the mess in a partisan manner. Nothing wrong with that.

Republicans held the reins for a while - time for the Dems to get a shot. Standard politicking as usual.

I didn't listen to any of it, since everything he says now is just reiterating almost everything in his campaign. I would have been pissed if part of Heroes or 24 was pre-empted. Maybe he does know when to STFU.

Why not just create a federal Department of Redundancy Department, hire four million people, pay them 100K a year, and call it a day?

Good question. Sounds like it would save the tax payers 100K per job as well. Truth be told this wasnt a stimulus package anyways. Just an expansion of govt package under the fear of a depression. So the cost of an actual job is irrelevant. They(the democrats) got a power grab. I cant even lay complete blame at Obama's feet on this one. The democrats went wild in congress. Spoils of winning the war I guess.

I think a better suggestion would the be re-establishment of a work program that you qualify for after layoffs for 75% of your previous salary up to 50k. You are retrained and work on infrastructure, or if you have the skill set in the management of infrastructure programs. Let people stay on it a max 2 years and give them 5 hours a week to job search on the governments dime. Keeps funds flowing through the economy, keeps the infrastructure up and you are helping people help themselves. None of this "here lil business, take this money and play good" shit. Probably cost a hell of a lot less than the government program ideas as well.

Like Boberfett: a hatefilled twat who hates everything in every society.

or

Like Jpeyton: pretty much the same.

And that was better than when he tried to say something. Hell Ronnie was a better speaker than that when he didn't even know where he was, who he was or why there was no palm trees there (this is a joke only a few will get)

So is the world coming to and end if we dont pass a trillion dollary spending bill today?

Or do we actually have some time to debate it?

Employment is a lagging indicator and so far we are still not as bad off as the 1980 recession, employment wise. This recession we cant get out of if we dont do something soon(depression) just needs to stop.

don't worry, it won't work, just like the bank bail out didn't work either. Just going to be pissing our money in the wind.

if you were going to piss money, isn't that how you would want to do it? that way it blows back at you.

Rookie mistake... I'll bet that he won't make it again!

He did very well imo, negotiating is better for everyone involved.

President Obama, with regards to nuclear Iran:
We?re going to develop a relationship of mutual respect.

Yeah... that'll do the trick.

Obama is on the economy as Bush was to Iraq.

Great Job all around, something we aren't use to from our President after the last 8 years. I think he did a great job selling and defending the bill and answering the questions intelligently. Will it convince the Wingnuts? Hell no, even if they agreed they'd still not be honest enough to admit it.
